Good luck to him, football careers are short and you need to take opportunities when they come, Tranmere are a huge club compared to us.

Exactly. Can't pretend I'm happy about it, but he's never promised to sign on, clearly just said that if he couldn't get a league side then he would want to be back at Barrow.
That quote from the Barrow site (posted above) also suggests that an offer was made, it was turned down, but he'd consider another - maybe there was no Barrow offer actually on the table anymore?

Well not really just saying I don't blame him, hardly from Hindpool is he, we've chucked money at him to sign him in the conference north, he scored a few goals, owes us nothing.

No one should be getting abuse, he has a career of about 15 years in him, he isn't the sharpest tool in the box so if he can make some more money playing for a bigger club then fair play IMO. Not gonna get angry over someone making a living and find it odd people do.

Well, there's plenty of space :-)
 No laughing matter, I'm wallowing in my second bottle of Merlot and half a ton of faux outrage before News at 10 :D

In any line of work though Steeley, you've got to try and back up what you've said properly, otherwise you have no respect at all. A 15 year career in any profession is lucky these days too sadly.

Any league club, SPFL, League of flaming Ireland, anything- but not this.

Andy, you dumb [SwearFilter]......have a look at the league table. Tranmere are in our league.....

With Gary Brain in charge Tranmere going no where soon, a bad move cookie.

If you had gone to league football I would of wished you well.

I would say he has.

Paul Cox stated :-
"He and his agent have been honest with me and told me which clubs have come in and Andy has told me if it wasn’t to be the Football League, then his preference would be to sign for Barrow again – and there are some pretty big hitters who have come in for him from our level of football. That’s a positive."

Just says "his preference". Hardly rules out all possibilities.

It obviously wasn't his preference so why say it?

Standard Moribund.

He had said that if he doesn't get football league he would rather sign for Barrow. The club offered him the highest contract the club has ever made, that wont be peanuts. It's not even June and he's given up on his dream of FL.

You can change your mind on a "preference". I used to prefer red Skittles, now I prefer green.
When he said that, how do you know it wasn't his preferred choice out of the deals on the table at that time? Tranmere could have, and almost certainly have, come back with a fantastic offer.

That's the main issue isn't it. Clearly didn't give a [SwearFilter] about football league, just played silly buggers to try and engineer himself the most £££ in his bank per week he can manage.

What, pointing out the difference between a fictional narrative that some fans have constructed, and reality? I'll take that as standard.
And it's hard to pursue a dream of FL if nobody wants you. His agent has clearly been using the last few weeks to badger every league club they can think of, and it hasn't come off.
Tranmere, with their budget, are probably more likely than us to reach the FL.

Sorry pal.

Btw, we're hardly a shining example of 'doing things properly' ourselves are we?

Deep breaths and move on.
