https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c ... e_managers

About 2/3rds of clubs have changed managers in the last 15 months - most of them sacked someone and replaced them with someone else who had previously been sacked by another club. Most of the ones sacked them got another job with a different club who sacked someone - and round and round it goes.

Now I suspect if we analysed the win/loss ratio of most of the managers on that list or checked what the supporters of some of their former clubs thought there would be something that people would find to moan about and say they were not suitable to be the next Barrow manager.

As has been mentioned I think the expectations of some on here are very high - the next 2/3 years for me is about becoming a solid/stable mid table League 2 side and allowing the board to build off the pitch as much as a manager can on the pitch. After nearly 50 years I would have thought league 2 stability would be seen as a major achievement by fans but it seems some think that is unambitious and we should instead be playing like Barcelona and getting promoted quickly - I wonder at what stage they believe we should win the champions league ?
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Agreed only further bolsters my claim it shouldn’t be taken so seriously.

Perthbluebird post is 'false and misleading' on subject that is very important to the membership of this forum. It's not a post about the fanzone.

If this irresponsible behaviour is allowed to continue by the Moderators, then the Forum loses all credibility, because you will never know what is truth or what is false, indeed a blatant lie.

Jocks post is not about his 'opinion', to which he is of course entitled.

He intends it be an 'Official Barrow AFC' statement (to which the Club should have some objection to) and seemingly he's being allowed to get away with it because "its just harmless fun".

Sorry, it's not. It's irresponsible and damaging.

I for one believed it to be FACT and only found out later it wasn't. At some point it might become a true statement, but right now it's not.

I know for a fact the PB has been warned before about his posts. This time he's gone over the line.

He has opened the door or even the floodgates to anyone copying a past Twitter or FB post, manipulating it to read 'whatever' and then paste it on this forum as accurate.

IE: 'Barrow AFC sign John Rooney as Player/Manager' or 'Barrow AFC go bankrupt'.

In the real world PB would be sued and a Court would order him to 'cease and desist'.

The Moderators know the track-record of complaints against him and if several warnings have not changed his disruptive and irresponsible posts, then it might be time for stronger action.

Whilst I totally get what you mean, I think it’s playing with fire to build a team with the ambition of finishing mid table, players play to win and to win every game. The start of season should be all about building a team to go for promotion and going into our season with a “mid table will do lads” - we're only Barrow and we been in non league for 50 years is just asking for a quicker than hoped return to the NL.

F*ck the little Barrow mentality and strike out and we should be going for it on this next coming season - within financial constraints of course.
Regarding the stadium it will catch up regardless of what EFL league we are in.

And judging by what I saw last season, you don't have to be more than ordinary to get up to the higher reaches of this league! Evatt came to Barrow and expected to be challenging for promotion from the NL and had he stayed he would have expected Barrow to be challenging for promotion from EFL 2 exactly as he was when he went to Bolton. Decent managers have ambition, the also-rans hope to survive!

Neal Ardley did well at Wimbledon getting them promoted to League One on a small budget and took Notts County who were a bit of a mess to a playoff final. He has management experience (unlike Dunn) and seems likeable (unlike Jolley). A good choice in my opinion.

My feeling too. Just because it was copied from somewhere else doesn't make it OK. Somebody outside the club could pick it up (eg NWEM or BBC Sport) and take it to a wider audience and Ardley and Cox could be embarassed by it. As it happens, I went straight to the club's official site and, when it wasn't there, to their Twitter account, and realised it was false, but only after I had passed on the news to my sister.
