Lol, talking shite. Group of people who were searched at a service station outside Carlisle with no issues from the officers there. Then searched in a car park and held for 40 minutes with no explanation. All searches came up with nothing. All had match tickets and were treated like prisoners. But if that’s what you say.

Searched twice, not found with anything incriminating, had match tickets, did nothing wrong... yet got turned away?

Surely they'll be taking legal advice, if this is accurate?

Watched the game on ifollow.

Carlisle looked like a team who will be promoted. They had a touch of 'Class' about them. Apart from Whitfield and Brough we don't have any. We looked devoid of confidence with players pulling out of tackles and passes going astray. I expect us to be mid table by the end of the season - which isn't a bad thing compared to the last two

I was upset by the two commentators last night. Both seemed biased against Barrow. Think they knew it too - one suggested to his buddy that their Barrovian colleagues (at Radio Cumbria) would be just the same - this was after one of them had reprimanded the other for speaking harshly about The Bluebirds. One of the comments claimed that Carlisle had put us "firmly in our box" - aluding to the notion that they consider Barrow AFC to be the lesser of the two clubs in Cumbria.

The way those commentaors spoke - and the reaction of their fans at the final whistle - would have made neutrals think that Carlisle considered the defeat of little 'ol Barrow to be a massive scalp!

I agree Ant, and the fact the James Philips used to be a Barrow commentator for sheep dip FM is just even more embarrassing, he knows the toil the club has been through to get to the position we’re in now and he spouts disparaging and demeaning comments, and then has the audacity to interview PW with the smuggest of tones in his voice with every question. It boils my pi$$.

The redistribution of geographical boundaries in 1974 was not the result of a political conspiracy. It was the end of a process that took several years and spanned several governments. It was far more to do with the distribution of resources in the region than it was anybody’s devious plan.

Exactly - Boundary Commission reviews and recommendations took place in the 1960s under the Wilson Labour government, the enabling legislation was introduced by the Heath Conservative government and the actual implementation was under the Wilson minority administration.

Whichever way you look at it, I've always felt more connection to Lancashire than Cumbria.
The language, accents, general demeanour north of the county is nothing like around the Furness/duddon estuary area. Anywhere that calls a bun a teacake is no area of mine!

You could say the same for Lancashire. Lancastrians are not interested in Barrow. They see it as being in Cumbria, which it is.
