Suffolk Blue is getting his first decent night's sleep for three months. Although the Vodka may have helped.
Still going Matty. Have decided to finish off with a birthday brandy sat in the garden, staring at the stars and counting the satellites passing overhead.
It has been a truly momentous day. Must admit though as with all these things it is tinged with a little sadness. We've lost so many fans this year before we even get to the likes of John Rolands and Brian Arrowsmith although thankfully at least Brian knew this day was on the cards.
48 years is a lot to digest. Its my entire youth and adult life. Its only at times like these that you allow yourself to reflect on how entwined your life has been with the fortunes of club. A lot of memories.
Stand down, have a month off, your work here is done.
Delighted for you, glad you can turn your attentions to something new.

It's a journey - I was 10 - now I'm 58 - what a journey it's been. Whatever happens next, this will never be forgotten and cannot be taken away, ever .

Let's make this just the start .
Marcus Rashford made something happen that politicians should have done.
Nothing is impossible let's build on the momentum.
Let's climb the leagues.

Don't have to qualify for the cup either.

I do believe this thread - much like Barrow AFC's non-League history - is done.

This thread will never die. I will defend it as others defend statues.

Disgraceful. This thread had slipped to half-way down Page 2. Time to resurrect it. It seems the corpulent soprano hasn't yet commenced her final aria:
From Ollie Bayliss:
No news regarding the FA ratifying the National League’s PPG decision.
Promotions & playoffs can’t happen until the FA Council vote to support the League’s resolution.
The situation’s a bit problematic given that clubs are now spending significant money preparing for playoffs.

In fact Nigel its fair to say that since the decision was made by the NL, no one outside the NL seems to have lifted a finger to assist with this process.
I'll add another complication. Just for old times sake.
I'm indebted to my good friend Mr C Paratrooper of this forum who has made me aware of a renewed storm brewing over the recent relegation of Stevenage and apparent reprieve of Macclesfield. It transpires that several chairmen of League 2 clubs have now expressed the view that Macc have taken the pi*s and that the decision to deduct only two points from them by an independent tribunal last week was too lenient and should be appealed by the EFL.
In response the EFL has not exactly jumped to Maccs defence and has agreed that it is taking legal advice to see whether the decision can be challenged. It has however admitted that the decisions of the independent disciplinary tribunal are considered as binding. It has also made noises to the effect however that it will be looking very carefully at the business plan that Macc were ordered to present to the EFL for approval ahead of next season. Failure to have that plan approved would potentially see Macc expelled and Stevenage reprieved.
Given our own distractions over the last couple of weeks you tend to forget that there is still a lot of stuff out there very much in play
