Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw (Home to Rochdale)
Not worth everyone buying a season ticket if they miss more than 3-4 games a season due to various factors and you don't know at the start of the season how you'll do in the League or FA Cup. You don't buy a season ticket just to get priority tickets for FA Cup games - we haven't won an FA Cup game in the last 2 seasons before this!
PC mentioned that there were 240-250 season ticket holders and some life members and there's 120-150? in corporate so that still leaves another 3200 that can attend of which around 1000 will be regular fans and maybe a few hundred more floating fans. I wonder how many of those who've put their names down are actually big game fans only who don't go to League games?

Wow a load of drama queens on here. The only thing I agree with is giving season ticket holders first choice. That's it. Everyone else, it's first come, first serve. Hope I get one or 3, but I'm not stressing. It wont be a sell out. Can't wait for the divas to kick off when we get Liverpool in the 4th round!
Anyway, I've got a robot to buy 1000 tickets and I'll sell to everyone at double the price!

Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

Posted a while back that they should've made a low-key league game earlier in the season a 'special' where you kept your ticket and it would entitle you to purchase 1 ticket after the season-ticket holders, etc were all catered for. Wouldn't have took a lot of organisation or much forethought. When are we going to get a merchandise department and administration we deserve. Nothing's changed much in 40 years really has it?

Just discovered Barrow legend Leo Bertos played for Rochdale. Along with Holt, Grand,Livesey and McEvilly. They were all there at the same time according to someone who's posted a team on the Rochdale forum.

i think I'm in the minority here in thinking this will be not far off a full house. This is the first 3rd round home draw since the 60's, the town will get behind it. 4K plus attendance.

It works for those companies which have systems to swamp servers snapping up tickets, preventing ordinary punters from having a fair chance to purchase, then selling at a premium over face value.

Disgusted that it now looks like neither this game or the Sutton game will be shown live on bbc. After all the hype of the competition being open to all league and non league clubs, the fact the tv money generates some valuable income to non league football, the fact the the draw is hyped up through non league clubs being in the mix with the big boys. What do they go and do .. assigned us to highlights. Totally wrong bbc and thanks for nothing

We had 2.2k for Tranmere - add in extra away fans and more corporates and we should be touching 3k without any additional floaters so yeah, we should be looking at selling out.Jonty wrote:i think I'm in the minority here in thinking this will be not far off a full house. And if ticket sales are slow, send out freebies to local youth teams etc. Let's pack the place out!

Ive booked a table of 12 in corporate with my football lot that wouldn't usually go to home games.
Thats potentially 11 new customers to the club if they have a good do.

There were hundreds 'locked out' against Dover in the FAT a few years back; Spirit of 1990 is still getting counselling about it. We used to queue right round the block in the rain and snow to get a ticket for the third round in my day and you couldn't get a rosette for love nor money. I remember us having to set the ground on fire just to get the Cup game on versus (Cont. Pg. 94)
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Yep I gave up and went home that's a time when I was a regular but I do think regulars should be given preference as they are the life blood of the club.

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw (Home to Rochdale)
Doesn't bother any more Gary, just because I went all the way to Dover doesn't/didn't guarantee me entry at HS. Doesn't matter that I was early. Not in the slightest bothered that I was directed to the wrong queue by stewards. I don't even feel aggrieved that there were thousands (if not millions & millions) of empty square footage left inside HS. Totally understand the very kind policeman telling me to go home when I pointed out how much space was left and I'd been all the way to Dover for the first game and that 3,000 of those in the ground had never been here before, he even very politely told me if I didn't go home he'd arrest me. Even hearing lads at work talk about the game and how we were robbed has no adverse affect on my health any more, even if them lads didn't even know what colour we were playing in. I'm also quite pleased that I took one lad to Dover who had never even seen Barrow play before....again, doesn't bother me he saw the replay.....even if he hasn't been since.Wintergreen wrote:There were hundreds 'locked out' against Dover in the FAT a few years back; Spirit of 1990 is still getting counselling about it.
I actually enjoyed listening to the game on the radio with a can of lager and the light out.
Nope, doesn't bother me anymore.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
