Calum Gribbin has a left-foot to die for, in the Puskas, Messi mode. Scores goals too.

Watch his highlights, usually in a #10, #7 or #14 shirt. Poetry in motion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ssjkt6uSEs

Since then he broke his leg and it's possible he's been dealing with some personal off-the-field issues. Haven't we all as teenagers growing-up.

He was released by MU, for whatever reason? I agree you've got to consider that Dunn and Jolley have over-looked him. No idea why? But you can't take anything away from the beauty of his awesome passes. He has a rare talent.

"A majestic left foot helps to make Gribbin a tremendously attractive footballer, with his set-piece skills marking him out as a natural talent. Having an ability to dribble without the ball ever being more than a few feet away from him and his elusiveness makes him a nightmare for defenders" - Analysis.

Hardcastle has barely been involved since he came back: not sure if it’s a match fitness issue or just playing with worse players but so far he’s nowhere near last year standards
Hard agree, hardcastle has been invisible for the last 2 games..... we have a serious relegation fight on our hands.

I spent the entire 90 minutes worrying about the new mutant strain of the coronavirus and therefore think it's only right to null and void the season and start a new season when it is safe.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

🤔I think all the players out there today shared your concerns!

That was bad. Passing was awful, terrible & not a decent ball for Quigs to get on the end of. Southend were quite happy for us to have millions of hours of possession because they knew we’d run out of ideas around the box.
What is worrying is the last couple of games we looked like we’d started to turn the corner & had something to build on - after watching that today we’ve just gone backwards.

MJ has his work cut out with some of this lot.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I'd say it was their attitude that was null and void!

as for hardcastle he's just come back and let's be honest he should have been eased back by coming on as sub but because we are so weak in midfield he's had to be thrown back in which isn't helping the lad!

Fully agree with this, can't expect him to play like he's not been out for so long

I think a negative situation was created before a ball was kicked today.
A goalkeeper, 3 centre backs, a defensive midfielder and 1 forward substitute is surely a negative approach to any game.
Especially when Beadling and Jason Taylor are both capable of playing in a back 3 if required.
Surely a forward type midfielder (possibly Gribbins) and another forward (Sea) could have replaced two from Zouma, Wilson or James Jones.
At least it would have let the midfield and forward players know they had to perform or they would be replaced.

Can’t remember the exact quote but Jolley said something after the game like the players we had today was all the players that had trained

Hope Mr Jolley has good contacts and gets us a couple of decent players creative to bolster midfield and provide service to front men.Sadly David Dunn’s recruitment has come back to bite us and it is obvious they are mostly not up to scratch this level.Luke James will look a much better player with decent service. We need more physicality and experience.people need to anticipate better the balls put across the box never anybody there. They should also practise playing against ten men cos we have not got a clue.Kay should stand down from corners and free kicks for a while or at least the role should be shared. We too slow predictable and soft at moment.cant see why he resigned chris Taylor on current performance.Team needs to grow a backbone (am being polite) or we going down.Over to you Mr Jolley.

My opinion of today’s performance rhymes with bucking kite.

The only positive was the kit looked nice.
Thought Connor Brown was very poor. Yes he’s a hard worker but he isn’t good enough, too slow on the ball and loves just hoofing it down the line.

Kay is starting to really annoy me, every game it’s a booking for stupidity. Again the same today. As well as loosing the ball at one point and sitting on the floor punching the ground instead of going to win it back. Absolute child, get rid.

Apart from that the rest were very poor, absolutely nothing from anything of the midfield 3 may as well played without them.

If I was Quigley I’d be handing a transfer request in, worked his socks off again today putting multiple balls across the face off goal and nobody gambling, that’s what we’re working with. Team full of fannies.

Edit - Why is Kay still taking set pieces he’s absolutely horrendous at dead balls , John Rooney wouldn’t put them daft balls in, get it in and put it on a head. Pathetic.

Bench was pathetic too. Where’s Gribbin / Sea

And why the [SwearFilter] did we re sign Chris Taylor. Wants putting in a retirement home.
