First time managing with no experience turned down by his own club for their managerial vacancy?
Well we all know how that turned out don't we.
Let's give the man a chance and reserve judgement until results are in. Not an easy task to lift demoralised players but he seems a positive kind of person to do it.
3 points today would be fantastic.
A massive difference between Evatt being appointed and Brown. Bar a few games when Chesterfield were already doomed we had nothing to go on regarding Evatts managerial experience. As for Brown he has been a disaster wherever he has been for the last four years hence many fans misgivings on his appointment.

I still can’t understand why Cooper had (and still is getting) such an easy ride, he’s been atrocious. He got everything he asked for in the January window and it hasn't improved the team or results. One of the highest paid managers in the league and done nothing at all to make it look like we’ve had value for money from him. Rumours of fall-outs with players, using every excuse under the Sun for poor results and performances….what’s been good about his spell here? Absolutely nothing.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Exactly not a clue about Evatt as an untried manager but the club took a chance and his own club didn't value him.
Southend was a hiding to nothing for Brown as they were already doomed.
To get teams into the Premiership and from L2 to L1 shows he has the skills and has done it. You don't.lose that experience but we will see how it pans out.
I wonder who you would have wanted at this stage of the season----who was available and who would have taken us on in our league position? Not many would have been brave enough to risk having a relegation on their cv.if that is what happens.

You cannot really blame Phil Brown if we do go down.Like has already been said a lot of our players are not league 2 standard. We have great difficulty scoring in the box.How many crosses di you see coming in that the players have missed. We have had corner after corner in some matches but still couldn,t score and therein lies our problem. It wouldn,t matter who came in they would all have the same problem and most of these players were brought in under Mark Cooper and unless their tactics change I can,t see us scoring this season.I am hoping Phil Brown has seen our weak points and can put it right.

To be honest I thought that post match interview was poor, Didn't watch the same first half as me. Tactics all wrong personnel all wrong yet it sounds like a love in post match. Having not missed a game all year when are we going to realise Jason Taylor's legs have gone didn't get near anyone today was embarrassing he can not play again. Josh Gordon is a defender who plays up front when is someone going to ask a manager when do they expect a goal return from him or do we not ask because it's pointless (regardless what happens this year he'd be one of the first I'd get rid off absolutely hopeless). We are 2 nil down and he brings gotts off for Glennon would have loved to have known his thoughts and reasons behind that sub. We've played a 3 at the back all year hasn't worked when we going to play a 4? apparently he watched us the one time we did play a 4 at Rochdale and thought we played well going off his first interview with the club, why did he play a 5 this game?

Josh Gordon is a defender how did you work that one out? He’s scored 5 goals this season, one in the fa cup, one curled into the top corner in the league, could matty platt score those? was getting called Flash Gordon only a few months Still think we need a consistent goal scorer though

I thought it was a pretty fair summary. I think he realises that he doesn't have a lot to work with. Players lacking confidence in front of goal, showed some heart and promise first half, but fragile confidence means easily deflated when the y go behind. Also, as we know, some players not good enough or not performing as well as they possibly could (though he didn't actually say that). I think his biggest task is building character and confidence. To that end, a win on saturday is very important.

I suggest you apply for a job with the BBC. You are obviously so much better than Adam.

Fair play to him, when he's only in the job for maybe 9 games, Phil Brown is doing his bit: https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2022/mar ... 1IPzRFe9Gg
Don't let the old man in.

Agree.
Lets just hope there is no connecting Oldham with six points between tonight and Saturday.

It’s great to see. It’s a shame Covid restricted previous managers from doing similar during both this season and last.

What restrictions we had this season?
