I agree - but my point is that I don't think the players could have been seen to have been laid off as they are under and FA contract of employment for a specific period of time (FA contracts are very difficult to break). Therefore to say they are Furloughed in this respect is pushing the boundaries of what the scheme was intended to be used for.mightywhite wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 4:06 pm That isn’t the case. The 80% is for those who would have been laid off, in order to be retained as employed. As long at they are on pay as you earn, taxation.

Re: Corona
Been driving round barrow for work all day, amount of kids out playing and shopping with parents was discracful, lock us down now.
Re: Corona
Lockdown if it happens needs to be thought out carefully. For example, I could ride out on my motorbike into the Yorkshire Dales without meeting a soul. Also, I could go fly fishing on the river in total isolation. If they ban all activities that involve leaving house, except shopping, the mental health and physical fitness consequences could be worse than the virus.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:05 pm Been driving round barrow for work all day, amount of kids out playing and shopping with parents was discracful, lock us down now.

There’s the lockdown. It had to happen.

There’s holes all over this - Gove (who’s a complete tit at the best of times) on Good Morning Britain has just been torn apart by Piers Morgan....dithering by a senior government minister with something as important as this is simply unacceptable. Simple questions that the government should have answers for just weren’t there.
Sports Direct opening (although since that came to light they’re now closing) Tubes in London absolutely rammed less than twelve hours after Johnson’s address to the nation....what is wrong with these people?

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Had to ‘clarify’ some important stuff straight after on the BBC too.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 7:55 am There’s holes all over this - Gove (who’s a complete tit at the best of times) on Good Morning Britain has just been torn apart by Piers Morgan....dithering by a senior government minister with something as important as this is simply unacceptable. Jesus man, there’s bound to be grey area’s in this which need addressing.Boris stated the key points of a lockdown requirement,he can’t go into every minor detail, one caller on a radio show asked if he could speak to his neighbour over the garden fence FFS, oh boris didn’t specify. As for the tubes, Khan the mayor massively reduced the number of tubes running which has caused issues, things will be sorted as long as the retards of the world comply.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 7:55 am There’s holes all over this - Gove (who’s a complete tit at the best of times) on Good Morning Britain has just been torn apart by Piers Morgan....dithering by a senior government minister with something as important as this is simply unacceptable. Re: Corona
Minimum contact with people, don't go anywhere you don't need to.
Common sense for me.

Re: Corona
You can “Jesus man” it all you want...I’m not talking about a man speaking to his [SwearFilter] neighbour over a fence, I’m talking about a senior government official giving out mixed messages on two separate TV channels within 30 minutes of each other, I’m talking about the same senior government official not separating which construction workers can carry on working - Morgan even asked him if a builder was throwing up an extension at someone’s house is he allowed to carry on...he couldn’t give a straight yes or no, he looked totally lost. These are the people who the population of the country is looking towards for clear instructions.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 10:44 amJesus man, there’s bound to be grey area’s in this which need addressing.Boris stated the key points of a lockdown requirement,he can’t go into every minor detail, one caller on a radio show asked if he could speak to his neighbour over the garden fence FFS, oh boris didn’t specify. So with that in mind, please don’t try to trivialise my point with an idiot & a garden fence.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

You cannot expect anyone to know the answer to every question.
Things are changing by the minute.
We are in unprecedented times and should be pulling together rather than sniping and scoring points.
People are dying FFS and we haven’t yet reached the peak.

Re: Corona
[SwearFilter] hell, it’s not about scoring points by me or a TV presenter, it’s about giving clear instructions to the situation we find ourselves in, we saw over the weekend people can’t use their common sense do what chance is there if the government can’t give a clear instruction on such important points. It says it all when there were several different people from presenters to a doctor to two journalists all agreeing it wasn’t clear enough, except the Sun journalist who tried to make an excuse for Gove’s fumbling.
And I realise they can’t cover every possible scenario but at least get the important stuff sorted.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
