It’s great they are still considering this.........but wasn’t this basically the idea of the pilot events?

Surely it’s not about individual clubs, it’s about the game as a whole. I agree that I’m not going to be paying Adam’s debts and he will not pay mine , but I think that’s missing the point.
Football as a whole constitutes many clubs at many levels , and at the top /elite end (including the EFL 1&2) the health of all clubs is paramount if the game is to survive as we know it.
Yes - that is a fair point. Sean Dyche talks from a predominantly Burnley view of life - which for him is quite right. Much of what he's said is also true although it sounds very harsh especially to a club that has fought its way tooth and nail, pound by pound back out of Non League football. But L2 teams generally speaking have committed all the sins of their premier league peers but without ever having a steady flow of funds to do so. Easy to see them as beggars that we might well do without.
His views looked at objectively however are tinged with hypocrisy as Burnley themselves live in a financially inflated Premier League world that funds them in a way that they could never themselves afford - even if they do use the money wisely. Over the last few years there has been a growing set of clubs in the Premiership that would like to have more of the spoils and frankly don't give a flying fig about ditching Burnley. To use the business analogy - in the real world Burnley wouldn't exist,. They would have been swallowed up (probably by Mike Ashley!) and taken over and their assets absorbed and sold off. There would only be 6-8 teams.
The point is they exist as part of a greater community and if that community fails you better be sure that you are protected from the fallout. Premier League clubs as you might expect are much less sensitized to the idea of an all-inclusive pyramid and don't see any dangers to themselves in particular if at the bottom it starts to crumble.

I am in Scotland on holiday and just heard a local journalist complaining that, while his local club was playing behind closed doors, there was a funfair just outside the stadium with throngs of people!

Common sense will have to kick in pretty damn quick. We can't let the club fold when people are walking round the enclosed environments of ASDA, Argos, Matalan and the like in their hundreds - a stone's throw from the stadium.
Let us back in! We've all got masks and we know what 2 metres looks like.

Chesterfield are looking at streaming their games into the hospitality areas of the stadiums with the curtains closed so fans can’t see the pitch

Good on them - it absolutely makes a mockery of the government guidelines and surely they'll see sense before long.
