Just reading PW resignation letter to Halifax fans.
Let's hope he does not use the same phrase you sometime plant trees you don't see grow.
Also stated it's a short career so have to take opportunities when they come.
Let's be honest it's about getting the best living you can .
In all honesty he did a good job initially then dropped off,but next season will be a big rebuild

Have given him some stick the season and deservedly so but ultimately he’s a really good bloke and probably is punching above his weight going to a promotion chasing league one side. Wouldn’t blame him if he did, probably have a season there and be financially secure for a good few years

Found this on Barnsley forum from poster Micky Finn on MAY 5th.
https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/strub ... el.330316/
12th post down saying:
"Interesting conversation just now with a colleague - knows someone on their coaching staff. Club apparently released half their promising players within hours of missing out on the playoffs. Manager not involved in the decision and is unhappy to say the least."
Maybe some truth in it ?

Don't believe this.
The Barrow Board is probably one of the most accomdating boards in the League.
Having said that we have a Chairman who is a accountant and will look at costs.
No matter where we end up there are people who came forward when we were in need and invested in the club, did not offer sound bites but put money at risk.
If PW gets a opportunity to go to a higher club I expect him to go.
He has done a really good job but at the end of the run in seemed devoid of ideas.
Either way whoever employees him as Manager will be taking a risk.
If he stays at Barrow he has to prove he is not the nearly man ,a big challenge.

IF Pete Wild goes, who would you replace him with?
Danny Grainger wouldn't be a bad shout imo.

Potentially entertaining from a Carlisle perspective though, which is the angle our marra is probably coming from.
