Ian Evatt
Re: Ian Evatt
I believe he believed himself and with just reason.
I do however agree with you that you will have the cream of the crop and being northwest based should freeze us out of the pick of the bunch.
But also don’t be foolish Stockport county I believe lost the championship playoff final in 2010. And I bet you never expected any of your last relegations.
All I can say is stay humble.

Yes I suspected we were in for a rough ride a couple of years ago, we had a dodgy second hand car dealer for an owner, who stopped paying players, stopped paying bills, and it all went to s**t, new owners came in and felt like a breath of fresh air, there was no way last season could be ressurected after the 12 point deduction, and having to play U18s for a quarter of a season, so in general all us fans expected the fall, but now we've bottomed out, our owners have given assurances that from now on the only way is up, and hopefully that meanss with an Evatt or Lowe at the wheel.

I bet the other owners gave assurances that they had turned the tide too...Johnno wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 1:15 pm

And we did turn the tide, promotion from league 1 at the first attempt, then survived in the Championship, then the shitshow started, he stopped paying everybody, and we went downhill from there, it's taken a year of pain to stabilise us, and now we're in a very good position, so I expect a great season from us.Moribund wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 2:08 pmI bet the other owners gave assurances that they had turned the tide too...Johnno wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 1:15 pm

Re: Ian Evatt
Put your money on a Sept 8th start date in front of season ticket holders only [ that will help club finances as it will drive people to buy ST.s who maybe wouldn't have done ] then 4 to 6 weeks later [ assuming nothing more than a few local spikes ] and then move to next stage where they start to allow individual match purchasers to attend [ although i would imagine you.ll have to buy in advance and online so that in the event of a mass infection they have the names and addresses of everyone present to make the tracing a lot easier ]RedWeb wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:09 amNot sure. The speed with which Dom and Boris are accelerating through the easing of lockdown suggests otherwise. There's also talk of 5000 crowds being allowed in France shortly. I think the season will start late, but probably with some sort of crowds allowed. Whether I think that's the right approach is kinda irrelevantWintergreen wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:52 am True but I don't think it will be that urgent to be honest. We will do well to see a game before the year is out I think.![]()
People need to realise now that the threat to our economy and way of life is way greater than anything that a virus could throw at us and thankfully about 6 weeks too late Boris and his mates have woken up to that fact.

I think the sensible way around the current crisis is clubs start to sell STs with a promise that if fans are still not allowed in they will provide free ifollow to ST holders for all home games, that way the clubs get the finance on board and guarantees more sales.

Re: Ian Evatt
Not preposterous at all You seem to listen to and believe all the bull shit that emanates from your club and its mouthpiece the local rag.Johnno wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 1:01 pmDid you really believe that when you typed it? no matter how people see us financially, trust me on this, we do NOT have financial problems, and will attract some of the better players that have been freed up, to suggest we will be relegated again is a preposturous statement.+[ [[Kris]] ]+ wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:48 am Bolton are a league 2 club, just like us. No point in side stepping. We could well finish above Bolton next season. Bolton might have a big ground but so do a lot of teams playing at our level and below. I guess the fact that they are looking at managers who can work well with a small budget gives an idea of their financial position. Could well see them dropping down to Conf North.
The Whites consortium might have all the personal wealth you say but they certainly don't have the inclination to use it for the good of BWFC and two good indications of that are 1] How close to the brink they took it last summer when if they had the cash you say they have they would have just borrowed another million each and had the job done in a day instead of [SwearFilter] about for months pleading poverty and 2] They only managed to do the deal in the end by taking it to the brink and persuading people who had already gone way beyond what could be expected to write off money they were owed now do you really think they would have agreed to do that if they knew the only possible purchasers were sitting there with millions stashed under their beds? Their entire business plan centred around the hotel providing the day to day money to finance the running of the football club well news for you not only has that not happened [ even before the lockdown the hotel was only achieving occupancy rates of 50% of what it was achieving 2 years ago before it was shut the first time ] instead of being the money tree its become the weight around the football clubs neck [ or haven't you heard about the crisis in the hospitality sector ? ] And from what i.m told any spare cash you have will be used to stop the hotel going bust and not to lay out in compensation to another club for their manager when you already have one on your books that you're already paying wages to [ well you would be if you could afford to and hadn't furloughed him.]
They should just get on and appoint David Lee and put you poor buggars out of your misery because all the Wanderers fans I speak know that's exactly what's coming and if you don't believe you could do a Stockport then you're a damm sight thicker than you come across as on here.
And I tell you what I know whos balance sheet I would rather be going into the new season with. Clue it isn't Boltons

Re: Ian Evatt
Excuse me but didn't your CEO just leave because you couldn't afford to pay him ?Johnno wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 2:11 pmAnd we did turn the tide, promotion from league 1 at the first attempt, then survived in the Championship, then the shitshow started, he stopped paying everybody, and we went downhill from there, it's taken a year of pain to stabilise us, and now we're in a very good position, so I expect a great season from us.
I know a club CEO in a similar position difference was the club owner created a job for him in his main company where he spends a day a week the rest of the time he gets on with his job at the football club.
Now maybe i.m wrong but I didn't see your ex CEO doing a bit of tour managing with the Floyd or did I miss that?
Re: Ian Evatt
Firstly the CEO you mention was a she not a he, and SHE stepped down because her Father passed away due to Covid, so if you'd done a bit of digging instead of speculating, you'd have known that, at the end of the day no matter which way you look at it, Bolton whether you like it or not is a much bigger project for Evatt than Barrow could ever wish to be, and I mean no disrespect by that comment, but in the real World it's a fact.NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:07 pmExcuse me but didn't your CEO just leave because you couldn't afford to pay him ?Johnno wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 2:11 pm

Re: Ian Evatt
Err is jacking your job as a CEO of a football club because your Father dies the normal then? Particularly as it's not as if she wouldn't have been able to take all the time off she needed over the next 6 weeks or so and in fact, i did know about the death but her pal your owner had said that was nothing to do with it. In fact, they went to great efforts to cover it up so as not to be seen as dumping someone who had just suffered a bereavement.Johnno wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:15 pmFirstly the CEO you mention was a she not a he, and SHE stepped down because her Father passed away due to Covid, so if you'd done a bit of digging instead of speculating, you'd have known that, at the end of the day no matter which way you look at it, Bolton whether you like it or not is a much bigger project for Evatt than Barrow could ever wish to be, and I mean no disrespect by that comment, but in the real World it's a fact.NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:07 pm

Nobody is trying to say that Bolton arent as a club arent way bigger than Barrow but what you need to understand is that size of the club means nothing once the rot sets in just ask Portsmouth and Sunderland and to date i see nothing at Bolton to say that the rot has been stopped just yet.
