Bench completed Dodger, hope it's up to scratch.spirit of 1990 wrote:A very kind offer off a man who has already helped us out raising cash - Dodger has offered to pay the cost of re-furbing Billy Child's bench, that's twenty notes back in the kitty for other job's.
Thank's Dodger.

Re: Ground maintenance area
We'll be at the ground this coming Sunday working in the M A & shifting a few odd's & end's.
If anyone could help out we'd appreciate the use of a trailer for one, possibly two trip's to the tip.
A flatback van to get some scrap taken to be weighed in.
And anyone who can give up a few hour's from 9:00 AM till about 12 noon.
The trailer situation is no where near as bad as it was last week due to John Mackay, Jonty & biggestfans sorting out a load of rubbish last Sunday & managing to get rid of it in to the smaller bins.
Had a few people in there today at Half time looking around & they seemed to think it's all coming together nicely, if anyone else fancies a nosey at the M A on Wednesday at H/T just drop me a PM & we'll sort something out.
Good to get a few people come up & tell me they're available in the coming weeks & over Summer to do work around the ground, there'll be plenty to do.
Thank's Dodger for the twenty notes you handed over today for the Billy Childs bench, much appreciated.

I'm visiting Barrow on 4 May for a reunion so subject to level of intoxication can put in a couple of hours on 5th (if doing work out of season) before I set off home

I'll be down Sunday, a few folk should be off for Easter so hopefully there will be a few. I haven't been able to do much lately so it will be good to lend a hand.

Re: Ground maintenance area
I've been exchanging e-mails with a man who reads the forum (but doesn't post on it) for the last couple of days. This man doesn't want any publicity & only wants to be known as "an exile"
He has very, very kindly offered the following -
He will donate £2,000 to the M A fund in one payment!!
He will then match £ for £ any money that people donate to the fund up to & including the 30th June 2013 to a maximum of £500.
If we reach donations totalling £500 that would give us a kitty of £3,000 to do projects around the ground over the summer!!
He has given us this money to use as we see fit whether thats on tools we still need or just the actual projects themselves.
We've never asked for money as we, as Barrow supporters get asked all the time for that, but I think you'll agree that this is an exception.
Ste will be sticking one of his boxes in the top right hand corner to highlight this. If anyone feels as though they could donate to this, their money will be instantly doubled. Please have a serious think about whether you could give anything at all as £3,000 will go a long, long way to completing lots of jobs around the ground.
When you consider we have about £170 in the kitty, and this man has just promised us up to a possible £2,500!! A fantastic gesture & certainly takes away a lot of the headaches of trying to raise money.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Tremendous effort Exile....and Spirit – this co-operation you have going with the club is definitely the future. We can all buy into it and help financially, physically or both. In the distant past previous BoDs kept supporters at arm’s length as we were viewed as customers for ‘their’ business. However with the togetherness and trust shown by the current BoD and this supporters group I feel we will become eventually become self-sufficient and a force to be reckoned with. Power to the people!
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

I'm pretty thick on this sort of stuff Al, so if anyone could help me out here it'd be appreciated.boyliegladbach wrote:Can you set up a paypal account to send money to?
If anyone wants to make a donation tonight at the game I'll be quite happy to take your money
I realise there has to be a certain amount of trust here (as money is exchanging hands) & I have reciepts for any monies we have already had to spend & I will continue to keep hold of them in the future for anyone who would like to have a gander at them.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Could Ste use the same paypal we used for the sponsorship syndicate?
I'd happily chip in a tenner.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Al, (and others)
If Ian is ok with it, you can use the BDF Paypal account and I'll make sure the money is sent Ian's way.
Ian is that ok with you mate?
