He said at the start of the season we will finish in the bottom 8 and was called negative etc. Some people obviously dont like hearing the truth
That was before we lost 6 million players due to injury.
Yes injuries but we didn't replace our goalscorers you'll win nothing without goalscorers, we received £250,000
At least £50.000 should have gone on a striker instead we went for a cheaper option!

To be fair to a former member of this forum I've spoke privately with him about the club but didn't put it on here because "your too negative " but most of what we talked about has come to fruition.
Just hope it all doesn't happen but I'm not so confident the way things are panning out !

Highlights are up if you can bear to watch. Apart from the half chance falling to Harrison In the first half there is nothing of any note in way of even a shot on goal. Not creating any chances is a big concern.

Awful viewing that. Nothing happened in the second half. No shots at goal on or off target.

Not watching once was enough, need some of those halucinative drugs that Moore used next home game !

I can't face watching those highlights!

If we do end up in the bottom 8 or even bottom 4 then Paul Casson hasn't got great value for his 900k (if that figure is to be believed).

No longer, yes and yes.

You may also presume I have travelled somewhat and tend not to be shrouded in negativity.

I think Andy Wood is quite good and impartial
I am sure he will have more information about what's been going on at the club,he seemed to talk to Casson and Cox and will see what has been said and actually done but will have to withhold his views as a memember of the media.
No matter what anyone says the team is in thr hands of a absent landlords and he will do what he wants supporters are secondary.

Do you expect the Cassons to run every decision by this Forum or more particularly via yourself before they take any action? How can they be 'absent landlords' when Casson Jr is at the ground every day to the point of arranging an ad hoc meeting with unruly supporters who bawled him out during a match.

If we were in the Premiership some people would still be moaning and doom mongering its just human nature I guess. We've seen our teams crap out before - its cyclical; cause & effect, peaks & troughs, nothing really new.

Like most people on here Andy Wood probably has half the story. I've never met him but he is constantly moaning on twitter about having to travel long distances to cover Barrow. He gets paid by the BBC for doing the job, there will be volunteers from community stations travelling up and down the country at their own expense covering their teams, they would give their right arm to do that job for the BBC.

As for half truths wasn't he saying a few weeks ago, we aren't doing overnight stays anymore before games, i'm sure we were training on the pitch at Sutton the other Friday.

As for the commentary itself - it is quite poor, it's difficult to follow the game and the banter with the co-commentators is cringworthy.

In terms of the coverage we get from the BBC it is good compared to other non-league teams, but there are only a couple of teams in Cumbria - we get that level of coverage because of where we. If we were in Manchester we would get nothing because they have more teams to cover.

I saw the team coach on the M25 on the Friday afternoon before the Sutton game. Presumably the team were on it and staying overnight rather than going home. ;)

"In terms of the coverage we get from the BBC it is good compared to other non-league teams, but there are only a couple of teams in Cumbria - we get that level of coverage because of where we are".---Quite correct,If we had to rely on Radio Lancashire,we would get sod all coverage.
As far as our commentary goes, what we are short of is someone from this town doing the commentary-ie-someone who has the club at heart, someone like walshy at Workington.
If the BBC wont do that then bring James Phillips back down here and let this Andy Wood commentate on Carlisel as thats where he is from. It would be interesting to see if he moaned as much 'then' about travelling from one end of the country to the other as Carlisel is miles from anywhere even as the crow flies.

RC will be on tonight and I think we get alright coverage. Andy Wood can get detracted when the play goes flat but fair enough he’s got to talk about something. Cassidy? Don’t think he likes us .. and Carlisle being a league above are always going to be favorites for the station. Tell you what if we get beat tonight then the questioning to MM will be no holds barred from them

Your reply is slightly off the point I was trying to make which is: Barrow is probably the most isolated place on earth.

You replied with: 'If you seriously believe that you should try getting out more'
Followed by your comment above.

Both your replies aren't relevant to the point I was trying to make.

It's common knowledge that Barrow is known as the longest cul-de-sac in the world due to its isolated location.

No it's his club and can do what he wants sell best players, pick a duff manager etc he does not have to have our approval
The abuse in front of other people shows,us up and is not on, probably fueled with drink and frustration.
I think Paul Casson is in control and as such will make the decisions so unless Texas is now part of the UK I consider him to be a absent landlord.
I told my mate beginning of this season he was going to try to get cash back and cut costs and that's what he has done.Thats his right he is now trying to run it like a business.
Yes he has spent money but it's what he had to spend.
