Probably about right but he’s not going to play anywhere near Championship level again and can’t imagine too many L1 clubs going in for him either plus he’s already made his money in football and just wants a swansong. Semi realistic target in my eyes.

Re: New Signings Rumours
The likes of Richie Smallwood and Danny Graham will not be signing for Barrow; we’ll be linked to Roque Santa Cruz and Christopher Samba next!
Re: New Signings Rumours
It has gone pretty quiet. Obviously DD will have a list and the BOD will be working to get the lads signed but we really need some more players in soon so pre season can start and we can get ready for the warm up games.
Re: New Signings Rumours
There are still two places in this league yet to be settled, a rumoured salary cap coming in next month and plenty of teams with no signings yet. There is no rush.

Don't be daft. Cruz would be a waste of a wage with Quigs leading the lineHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 7:38 am we’ll be linked to Roque Santa Cruz and Christopher Samba next!

Re: New Signings Rumours
Spot on. Signings are thin on the ground in league 2 many clubs have not made any yet. Our rivals in the North of the county only have 7 senior pros ATM so all things considered we are doing fine in building our squad.
Re: New Signings Rumours
The 2 teams to come into EFL2 are not really anything to do with us signing players. If i were a betting man I'd say Notts county and Macclesfield will be in EFL2 next season. If you go on the League 2 pages only a handful of teams aren't signing anyone for various reasons but some have started. Im sure that DD and BOD are looking at players and trying as we speak to get them to the club. Some teams have enough to feild a team and subs - we have 12 ? Also the salary cap which is rumoured to be 1.5m (i cant see us going that high) isn't expected to be fully implemented until next season so this season its looking likely you can pay around £1300 to a player each week and what ever you pay on top of that goes towards salary cap. Basically you can have a very good squad but if you don't win the league you are knackered when cap fully comes in. We have a unique chance to get some quality in the squad if several teams aren't adding yet so get the good lads in now before others do (was more my point)

We don't need to be able to field a squad right now.LCBAFC40 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 9:33 amThe 2 teams to come into EFL2 are not really anything to do with us signing players. If we still have big gaps in the squad in three weeks' time, then you can start to worry. Also, just because players haven't been announced doesn't mean they haven't agreed to sign - Carlisle supposedly have three or four players ready to announce at some point.
If the salary cap comes in, we are likely to be unaffected, but other clubs will be making decisions about who they can fit in their squad - I reckon there'll be more League 1 and 2 players transfer listed or farmed out on loan next month if that's the case.
Re: New Signings Rumours
Not sure when the season will start but one thing was Ian Evatt brought players in early on to give them chance to settle in.
It maybe that we have identified players but to bring them in early means we have to pay their wages in full as the Furlough scheme is not applicable as the players will be starting new employment.

Re: New Signings Rumours
Also we cannot officially put player registrations through yet as the transfer window doesnt open until tomorrow.
All those "signed" so far will have only signed agreements to sign for us.
No huge rush yet, I am sure there will be many more in the pipeline.

Re: New Signings Rumours
16th October finish. Gives us a good month to make any tweaks from the opening games.
Keep forgetting we're bound by windows now and can't sign whenever we like.
