Barrow v Hyde Replay

Couldn't make it last night. How was McConville? He had his first start for a while.
Popular side since '03.
Re: Barrow v Hyde Replay
McConville played well, beat their right back a good few times and got into the box on the left a few times. The teams overall attacking movement was good and their defense was being pulled around a bit all night. The whole team played well, but... the opposition left a lot to be desired. Hyde were poor and if they play like that in the league they are going to be relegated.
Barrow's obvious weakness on Tuesday was they can't finish, they have had that problem for a while. Their keeper pulled off good saves one after the other all night. In contrast, Hurst's first save of note came well into the 2nd half. Even at corners (and there were a few) the team defended like we have not seen this season and cleared it.
We did not look like we were going to concede at a set piece which we have rarely seen in recent games.
When Barrow scored Hyde heads dropped and they opened up at the back giving Barrow acres of space to finish them off but, being Barrow they did not. A better team would have finished them off. There were still a few gaps in the defense but Hyde could not take advantage of it thankfully. Good game and a well taken goal by Baker, there were 3 players queuing up to put the winner away.

Just as well we caught them on a bad day - it was 7-0 today!Reg wrote:We were much better than them. 2-0 would have been a fair reflection.
They're probably going down.
Re: Barrow v Hyde Replay
They've had some good league results lately. They absolutely smashed Woking today with 17 attempts on goal versus 0 in front of 429 fans.
