Just noticed that the BBC BSP site has a 404 page error on the current story for Barrow. That story's title is the old racism story about the 1st tie has been inserted as the most recent story for Barrow on the site. It is superseding the match report of the game at Macclesfield. Does anyone know if a news story has been post and the link is bust or the site been hacked? Not sure how to report this to the BBC.

EDIT: Link is broken again but a story about Ryan Jackson Macc player being racially abused by a Barrow player popped up for a moment, it said that it had not been reported to the police. I wonder if that had something to do with when the ref talked to Hessey and went to the 4th offical, 4th official spoken to steward and then the stewards and police surrounded the EDL bunch? or was it something that has been mentioned about problems in the tunnel afterwards? :?

Is Jaffa cake racist now? I don't even find it derogatory. In fact I really like Jaffa cakes, especially the cake bars.

Strange one Macclesfield...

Landlord and locals in the pub in town couldn't have been more sound, absolutely spot on. Again the guys and girls working or supping in the bar etc were all spot on with us and fair play in what must have been a big effort to get the game on.

But how you can have the sheer audacity to continue with racist accusations to barrow fans after turning up with 40lads behind a [SwearFilter] EDL flag is beyond me. The reaction of both sets of fans to said gesture tells you all you need to know about who the racist idiots are... Think the true Macc fans and players need to look a lot closer to home to be honest. Not sure what's more embarrassing the edl [SwearFilter] fighting amongst themselves (a welcome distraction from the game) or that utter muppet on the mic with the two barrel name [SwearFilter].

As for their forum, strongly advise you not to read, vast swathes of utter clueless [SwearFilter] greatly diluting the odd decent well reasoned post from the real mac fans.

1) Nat Brown alledges soemone has called him a monkey, no one hears it, including the police who were stood next to the tunnel. 2 yards from where he came out for the second half at Barrow ( It would help if they made a public statement). The manager then lies about chanting, then random and utterly deserved abuse from the crowd is dressed up as racism- the 26 Macclesfield fans who arrived know for a fact it was hostile but there was no racist shouts ot chanting. NAT BROWN LIED AND SO DID HIS MANAGER.

2) On to the away, we sing " You know what you are, lying [SwearFilter], you know what you are" this is apparently racist now. [SwearFilter], we were wary of chanting cheat as that was what was used last time to lie about our club.

3) Then the EDL pop up, probably with their own agenda, possibly not all Macc, abusing our players and fans and clealry just up for trouble and a box, but not enough not to start fighting amongst themselves.

4) Alledgedly, one of our players calls Nat Brown a liar, then it kicks off at the end. HE IS A LIAR AND IF ONE OF OUR PLAYERS SAID THIS THEN I APPLAUD THAT PLAYER.

5) Then some more [SwearFilter] on twitter etc from Macclesfield.

Cowards, liars and bigots all of them- horrible club and they will reap what they sow when they go bust next year or so.

None of them have any bottle to substantiate any of these allegations, nor back up what they said on the terraces, hiding behind a racist organisation and lies from a set of players who are under pressure and haven't the slightest interest in their club.

They have maligned our great club, for no reason other than to follow their own agenda. If anyone, in Barrow, or elsewhere, believes any of their [SwearFilter] more fool them.

ALONE AGAINST ALL
WE KNOW THE TRUTH

Great post Steve and absolutely spot on. I'd go so far to say that unless our club now comes out with a statement to that effects or similar, I and I hope others will withdraw from attending matches fortwith.

Hi again!

The EDL fan base has existed at Macc for a while and it makes me die a little inside every time it rears its ugly head but unfortunately it's not illegal so we have to live with it. But most Macc fans detest it I can tell you that much (that's probably what the fight was about) So to tar us all with the same brush is ridiculous.

Yesterday was embarrassing for both clubs and a result of having a second match so close after the first.

It's worth pointing out that this is the first time we've ever had any accusations of racism from any players so to say its lying without any evidence isn't really on. I agree he shouldn't have gone on twitter and it should all have gone through the proper channels but the truth is you (or I) have no idea what was said. We'll just have to wait and see what the FA report says.

Either way nobody wins from this. Looking on both clubs boards we both have our fair share of blinkered idiots.

I don't know what happened on the pitch or afterwards but the Barrow fans were a credit yesterday - if I hear anything to the contrary from the club ill be very angry

With regard to other allegations we know that Steve King and Nat Brown are liars so in take everything else with a pinch of salt

So you can state it as truth Macc fan but we can't state it as lies - your manager is a lying cheat

Your EDL supporting fans are a disgrace - it wouldn't happen at Barrow - the Barrow fans would make certain of that

You don't 'know' anything. Nobody does for sure.

And I've heard no complaints about your fans yesterday.

I don't think we're saying Macc are lying about the allegations against the players as only they know what was said. But the allegations against the fans are [SwearFilter]. We were surrounded by Police and stewards for 90 mins, could anyone have got away with it?? Doubtful.

You know what you are, lying [SwearFilter], you know what you are. That isn't racist by the way, some on your forum hear things that aren't there.

Other than people on the forum alleging we were singing racist songs about Nat Brown.

In the interests of balance, the welcome in the Town Centre pub (Porters) was excellent, they couldn't do enough for us- perhaps some of your fans we met in there, good people, would back up our good behaviour. You did an excellent job with the pitch and also were much better than us at keeping folk informed-an area where we have room for improvement. I didn't really want to go in your club after what had happened but the reception there was fine, and the fans who went there from the first arrival were very complimentary.

I think what upsets and angers me most about this is the hanging jury through national and local media, without any checking of the facts, and led in the main by your manager. Ths was utterly driven by unsubstantiated allegations, which, given the distinct lack of charges being brought from the first leg and the fact that despite there being hundreds of people in the area nobody heard anything; you can surely understand our scepticism. Barrow is a small, tight-knit club, where for good or ill, everybody knows everyone's business- it's just inconcievable that no one else would have heard. If you add that to the behaviour of Nat Brown during the game, where he used every trick he could muster to cover up his own poor performance, including going to ground at every opportunity feiging injury when he lost the ball, constantly getting in the refs ear etc, then I find it difficult to believe anything he has said.

Our club has not been given the opportunity to answer any allegations properly after an investigation, which is the proper way to go about these things. If there is found there is no case to answer then Macclesfield Town and it's fans should be nationally pillioried and their good name dragged through the mud, much as ours have been, without any proof whatsoever.

What does "Jaffa Cake" actually mean?? Has their player just decided its a racist term??

I might be being thick but never heard it used as a racist remark before myself.
