We are trying to balance the books on sub 1000 crowds and probably there are times when we are robbing Peter to pay Paul. It can't be easy.

If BK says it will be sorted out on Monday then I'm not going to question that and I'll take it will be done and that this will be put to bed.

As fans the best and most immediate thing we can do to help out is continue to support the club by coming through the gates and signing up as Members.

It's obviously natural to be [SwearFilter] off but calling for the heads of BK/TK etc.. is wrong.

I don't think now is the time to be pointing fingers and stamping our feet.

What we need from the BOD is complete unequivocal honesty on the situation and then, we can start making plans on how to first, stop the bleeding and then secondly try to move forward.

We've been punching above our weight every year we have stayed in this division and most supporters have been calling for money we don't have to be invested in the team, so to just blame the BOD seems very unfair to me.

If they kept a strict budget, they would be accused of lacking ambition. Now they have overspent, they're being criticised for that. It really was a no win situation for them.

It's going to be difficult but after everyone has vented their fury, they should clear the decks and look to do whatever they can to help the club.

If we start infighting now, there is little chance of the club having the strength to get through this.

Get ourselves out of the mess, then hold the enquiry. It's the only thing that makes sense logically.
i agree reg, but finding out from radio cumbria the extent of our troubles, on top of finding out from stockport the deal for o'donnell has fallen through despite the club announcing it, on top of the AGM being held late with reports of accounts being submitted late means that i have little patience with the board, they could have won - by being honest about the situation, running an open and welcoming club which worked with not against fans! this would be a victory

Brian Keen comes on the radio earlier and says there is no problem everything is running steady etc then two hours later is forced to admit (in a round about way) that an embargo exists.

I feel sad being too critical of the BOD they give up their time and effort for free - but they are sadly clueless. Commercially we have gone backwards.

The fans have continued to raise money - the fantastic sponsorship thing on here was great, the pledges, adam's scorecast and the work of the BDF. If I won a million on the lotto id be loathed to hand any over to the club they would just waste it.

I dont know what the answer is to be honest - we have all put our faith in these people to run the club. We have never been a real members club even the fan liason board member (no disrespect to John who I like is a nice fella) was more or less appointed by the board.

Is there any people with the will, the knowledge and the desire to help take this club forward ?

Do we need to form a kind of football trust ?

What can we as fans realisically do other than moan which isn't very constructive.

Keen did not deny there was an embargo in his late interview but said they thought they had sorted the problem. Seems like an embargo has been put in place but not officially confirmed. Hence the O'Donnell transfer blocked, leaving them scratching their heads as to why. Sounds like they have moved to clear the problem that has raised the threat of embargo and the club thought that was enough. FA requiring confirmation of payment before lifting embargo? Should be sorted on Monday according to Keen. Probably not helped with Russell Dodd down with flu by the sounds of it.

Hope it is nothing but a misunderstanding as Keen says.

Lack of home games till 22 January will not help, either.

why don't they budget then i pay my mortgage on the 4th of the month i don't wait until the 3rd to try and find the money. This club has had money and opportunities to try and raise money - it's had many offers of help from fans we could have had some kind of marketing commercial team in place raising money for the club and using the clubs assets to bring in income - but no what do the club require a cleaner! I know money is tight but just be honest with us - I do not believe we have a bottom of the league budget - i would say being full time is killing is tho.

Jesus christ Jonty, [SwearFilter] wake up man!

I agree with Reg's post in the main, but what I'll now find difficult is trusting the BoD with anything. By and large I did trust them before this episode, but they've completely destroyed that trust now.

What I don't get is why we'd try and sign a player if the board knew this was on the horizon? Or are their heads really that deep in the sand to the clubs situation?

In his interview BK was at pains to say that the 'problem' with the signing turned up 'late last night'.

Strange that was was on here and on The Stockport forum mid afternoon!
