There's that line again!!

So many people say it but with no names on the horizon to step in & take the place of the "sacked board"

I've lost track of how many times I've said this but I'll try again, if the board were "sacked" or decided to pull out en bloc on Friday - where are the new directors coming from? rumours aside.

This is not a pro board post but a serious question, if we find ourselves in the position of being a football club with no board after Friday night - what do the club do then?

This is not a pro board post but a serious question, if we find ourselves in the position of being a football club with no board after Friday night - what do the club do then?

It's ALL about the money isn't it? We have been incredibly fortunate that we have had a board that have been willing to prop up the club. No matter what else, that point has to be conceded by all because without them we would have been dead and buried long ago. I have pretty much been a supporter of the board (along with most others) but I think we have reached the end of the road with regards to where the current set-up (board AND constitution) can take us.
Frankly, if there IS a willing investor, particularly one who actually is a fan rather than one who just wants to launder money, then I would be voting to give them a go. We aren't that many steps from not having a club anyway so let's go for it...if it is an option.

its the same as when we get rid of players, managers etc, we are a relatively big club at this level, we have a fairly decent sized town of 70-80k people, crewe survived in the championship with a town of 100k and much lesser catchment area due to big clubs being close by, so we would be a decent proposition for business minded people to get involved in BUT at the minute the way we are run and the closed shop mentality would put them off, if the board were to leave we would have plenty of others willing, of that im sure. just because they arent banging on the door doesnt mean we would be left to rot. that is how the board have presented things the "us or no club" mantra which has people scared to change even though what we have is god awful.

we the memebers run the show not the incumbents of the board, the whole we arent letting you vote new members on as we have stuff going on at the minute was on e particular incident which still angers me.

I would not be worried if they downed tools tomorrow, within a month or so we would be in a much better postion with a new board in place.

all this is my opinion not taking into account any rumours of mystery take overs etc.

If we are going to have things mentioned on the Official Website then I would have thought that players joining and leaving the club would be mentioned?
No news that we've signed Jary Bitner (mentioned on the Conference site on Tuesday) or that both Cliff Moyo and Robin Hulbert have left the club.
Surely this is the sort of thing that should be mentioned on the Official Website?

It's very clear that nobody at board level gives much of a [SwearFilter] about this kind of thing anymore.
It's more surprising when news is actually posted on that thing, than it is when it isn't

I know, but I was just trying to make a constructive point on the off-chance that one of the board may be reading this to say that these sort of things should be mentioned on the Official Website seen as the board do read the Forum and this topic was started by John Mackay.

We are still viewed a big club in the non league world, its ourselves that tend to keep on knocking ourselves into oblivion, guess it comes from living in the peninsula, aka Britain's biggest cul-de-sac.
