That's right, it wasn't much of a distraction. The result just says how bad Barrow are at the moment.
They just couldn't win a so called "tinpot" cup even if they wanted to.

We should have been making a real effort to win this cup this year. A day out for the fans and were arguably the biggest club entering it. The sad thing is that we probably were trying. MAJOR change needed - starting with a new manager with no ties to the previous regime.

What do you expect when the decision to reduce the price has barely been advertised anywhere until sometime the day of the game on the official site, which most people who work in the day cannot see until they get home. This game has been on for weeks now so why the hell has it not been advertised as being reduced before now? I stand to be corrected but I cannot recall it even being announced over the tannoy on Saturday ! If we are struggling to get 600 for a league game who is going to go to a tin pot cup game, thinking it is full price? This club never cease to amaze me. Just when you think they can't get anymore amateurish, they come up with yet another laughable cock up which will have further financial implications, but of course what ever has been lost on tonight's game will be the supporters fault for turning up in such diabolical numbers when the club needs them most. Can someone from the club please tell me what was so difficult in properly advertising the fact admission to this game was vastly reduced ? Tony Keen stated at the AGM that the BOD recognise they have made mistakes and this will be accepted and forgiven by fans but only if they do not keep making the same basic ones over and over and over again. They just do not learn, it's as simple as that.

Bamber Bridge by far the better team in both footballing skill and endeavour deserved the victory for their hard work which put our players to shame.
Good move by two u18 players which produced 2nd goal for us but they have a lot to learn and tonight they got very little encouragement or help from our first team regulars.Midfield was missing all game ARH I thought was shocking ,Parkinson showed why he hasn't been chosen very poor and Lacey never passed to a team mate all night.Williams and Mitter and O'Donnell wouldn't make a centre half between them.Arnison scored a good goal but did little else,Meechan took his goal well but again not up to it.Substitutions didn't make any difference, the basics are missing .Tin pot cup it maybe but we have a tin pot team........Sooner we get a new leader/manager the better. :(

This Bayliss hangover is going to last a while.

I'm glad I'm not one of the nuggets that thought it was a good idea to give the bloke another pre-season to screw up.

The form was in the book. Shame nobody that counts picked it up and flicked through it.

Apart from the Mikey Thomson cross for the Meechan goal, (which was Quality by the way looked like we had found a winger at last!!) we offered very little as a team. We couldn't even string three passes together in the second half. Paddy Lacey as nice a lad as he is just can not pass a football. But he wasn't the only one the game passed so many players by, we were very one paced and never tried to increase the tempo at all showing little commitment as a whole. Bamber Bridge kept things simple out passing us for the most part and more than deserved their place in the next round.

We really are becoming a laughing stock both on and off the pitch. We need a clear out starting at the very top. I fully understood why they stood by Dave Bayliss for as long as they did in the hope he would turn things around as he was after all partly responsible for giving us the most successful period we have ever had, but even he could not dine out on that for ever. Part of the current board helped save the club when we were last in the mire but the same applies to them as applied to D.B in the end. I understand the potential investor/take over, that was mentioned at the AGM may still be interested if the current BOD were not in place?? Well we as members have the power so let's do what needs doing, whilst we still have a club to support. I have no question that the intentions of the BOD are in the best interests of Barrow AFC but they are just not up to it now and every new or repeated mistake they make is another nail in our coffin. WE MUST do something soon or I seriously fear for our clubs future.

It's being disrespectful to the likes of Bamber Bridge to call this a tinpot cup. After tonight's performance it's tinpot teams like Barrow who give teams like Bamber Bridge the chance to go on and win it. Pleased I gave it a miss but spent a miserable 2 hours listening to James Philips and his 2 stooges Grant Holt and Chris Lumsden woefully trying to describe the action from what sounded like an equally woeful Carlisle/Crewe match on RC .

Also tried that but switched off as I became tired of them all talking at the same time/speaking over each other. Really professional!

I still don't understand why we don't take this cup seriously.....it's always good to have a night out at a cup final to look forward to at the end of the season no matter who the opposition

Do you mean 'we' or do you mean 'someone'?

Respect to the likes of John Mackay and Peter Garbacz who have stepped up to the task. Do you know of others who are prepared to do so?

If someone else were to 'take over' (and I know it isn't as simple as that and make no comment on the desirability or otherwise of that) then the current BoD would be unlikely to have any relevance to that.

Or perhaps you mean that someone else would like to get the club 'on the cheap' but the current BoD, on behalf of the members, won't countenance that?

The 1st half they did, 2nd half back to the standard performance. Midfield went missing which didn't help!!

If the takeover group are still serious about the club then maybe a vote of no confidence in the current board is called for at the next AGM, whenever that might be.
