I will of course be completely unbiased.

If Pete starts screaming at referees like "Doddy" does, I'll mute his MIC! Then again, if and when Barrow score, I pity our poor patients as we screamed loud enough when Andy Haworth scored that cracker to beat Stockport on Good Friday! This weekends game is such a pressure cooker event, I just hope that our studio anchors are ready for us to go ballistic if we take the lead!

I still cannot believe that you lot have brain washed a life long rugby fan! It's been a great season though, with occasional 'downers' and I have enjoyed every minute behind the MIC thanks to the generosity and friendship of all at Barrow AFC. I still have much to learn about the round ball game though but hope that our enjoyment and sincerity come over on the commentaries. Thank You!

Re: Radio Lonsdale and BAFC
What a fantastic weekend at Lowestoft! Just 12 months ago we dreamt of providing live broadcasts from Holker Street once again after a gap of 20 years! Thanks to Pete Garbacz and the board we managed to start in the 2014/15 season, a full year ahead of our planned schedule. It was a great ironic twist that the man who assisted Radio Lonsdale the most, "Uncle Peter" was my co-commentator on the day that Barrow won the title, superb!
We had a couple of technical issues pre-match but managed to broadcast the full game live back to Furness General Hospital. I was amazed at the number of Barrow fans who came over to speak to me about the hospital radio coverage - before, during and after the game. It was quite simply, a fantastic weekend. Both Barrow and Lowestoft fans were a credit to their clubs and what a welcome we received in Lowestoft.
We had to wait a good bit to get our live interview with Edmo after the game, as quite rightly he was busy celebrating with the fans, so my thanks to the studio team who waited so long. It was well worth the wait and has many have already said, Darren was very close to tears during interview! I thought that Edmo showed his affection for the supporters by wandering around the ground shaking hands and chatting before and after the game.
Yes, a mammoth journey but the memories of the game and the supporters who made that trip will linger much longer than the drive to Lowestoft! Once again, you put us through the grinder in that final ten minutes Barrow, but I wouldn't have missed a minute of it!!!

Re: Radio Lonsdale and BAFC
Had the 'pleasure' of listening to the Eastleigh game as a patient in Furness General Hospital this weekend. Thanks to Matt Taylor who did a brilliant job as lead commentator for the very first time, ably assisted by our regular match summariser Andy Carlisle.
A great result for Barrow. Onwards and Upwards for the Bluebirds, we hope!
Radio Lonsdale will be broadcasting the whole of tomorrow evening's Lancashire Senior Cup fixture from Holker Street, Barrow v Blackburn U21's at 7:45pm.
It's going to be a few more weeks until I can get back behind the mic on a regular basis and I'd like to thank all those from the club who have sent best wishes during my recent enforced hospital stays. We'd also like to thank Ralph from the HSN and Dave Chubb who have assisted with our plea for sports presenters. We've had a number of inquiries from AFC fans and we will soon be able to build a support team to cover all eventualities.

Are Radio Lonsdale providing the commentary online?
Re: Radio Lonsdale and BAFC
I don't think they are, but I'm sure there was talk of it.

Re: Radio Lonsdale and BAFC
Dave C and others, brought up the matter of streaming Radio Lonsdale coverage of games outside of the hospital, at our AGM, and it will be discussed at our first new committee meeting this week!
Meanwhile I am coming off the sickbed to broadcast today's Barrow v Aldershot game as we are short of trained volunteers due to work commitments at present. Your poster did the trick and we have 4-5 new folks awaiting training once I get my surgery over with.
Really looking forward to today's game and to meeting many of the folks who have passed on their kind get well messages recently. Come on Barrow - let's hope for a better crowd!
