Why should that be a conflict? Being a director, Pete is allowed into board meetings to pass fan concerns onto the rest of the directors - whereas if he wasn't a director he wouldn't be allowed access to these meetings and then we'd have people saying it's a "closed shop" and the board don't want him to hear certain things. Can't win can they?

I don't think anyone "blindly" defends the club, it's glaringly obvious that some area's need to improve......perhaps it's just some don't need to point out every single mistake/downfall of the club because either you or one or two others are happy to repeat yourselves to death over it.

Here's a few suggestions - put yourself up for election at the upcoming Trust AGM, or if you can't be arsed doing something as positive as that, approach PC next time he's here and pass over your concerns to him in person, ask Pete officially to bring your questions up at the next board meeting rather than just snipe on here.

BTW, I think a lot of points raised by yourself & others are very valid, but by just posting the same things over & over again sort of proves the point that by simply doing that it's achieving nothing - hence the suggestions above.

A very good reply with some valid points.

"Every single mistake / downfall" If there is that many of them to point out that we have to repeat ourselves with them, then is that not seriously worrying to anybody? Maybe its a case of people just buring their heads in the sand and ignoring the problems we point out?

Remember when we used to point things out whilst under the old management? Other people didn't care about them until they became a serious problem.

There is nothing wrong with being over cautious . If you just sit back and pretend that Cassons money will be of an unlimited supply forever and that we don't need anything in place to support that then thats fine. You beleive that. Im sure in 15 /20 years youll still be defended anything the board does whislt we wait to see who is elected onto this 'New Ground Feedback Group' or what ever it was promised to be.

Ive emailed Paul Casson a few times. His replies havnt always come through but I understand that is due to him probably being very busy. Im sure also if Pete thought they needed bringing up then he would bring them up at meetings. A further suggestion to Pete would be to see if the board allowed time at future meetings to discuss what is talked about by the fans on here and through the town. A FANS FEEDBACK SECTION if you will.

As for me standing for election to the trust committee I really have no idea what I would do apart from what I do now. Id need an assistant and a competetive salary at least before I even began to take on such a role.

Well done Nige. You have just become the first person on the internet to form an opinion of someone you have never seen or met before. In my 40 years in Tax ive never seen anything like it.

Do you usually think about me and listen to Cyndi Lauper? :S

We all know Rome wasn't built in a day, and sometimes you have to make sacrifices in some areas in order to achieve elsewhere! Maybe the simple fact is there just isn't enough people available to do the day to day stuff and the ones that are there are being overstretched.

Information is the key to everything though, if you take time out to explain just a little bit on a regular basis most people happily accept and wait with great anticipation! but it seems there are more questions than answers at the minute!

Its easy to say that it takes time. Its been 12 months now and as Ive said before . On the pitch is great. Off the pitch isnt to far from what the club was left in in terms of genreating money. I know the cross bar was re kit out and such like but the club shop lies basically empty and theres just no real difference.

As regards to not having enough people Pete informed me the club is running 6 days a week . its close season and we lack home friendlies so I can't see lots being on at the moment. We have a commercial manager who I would imagine should be working during this time. Whats he putting in place? Becuase this past 12 months weve not seen alot.

Joking apart nothing much will change until Paul Casson appoints a C.E.O., we need someone to push things along if Paul Casson lived here things would be different so until we have a captain the ship will just sail aimlessly along!

I was just thinking about that this morning - did we advertise this position or are we 'headhunting' someone? Anyone know? Pete?

For whats its worth the trust have no devine right to have a committee member on the clubs board this is purely down to Casson he could have no board if he wished.

If Peters not elected at the AGM and someone else is they won't neccessarily be allowed to attend or become a member of the board.

As for the comercial side the board read this forum but if you directly email them they will respond to you.

I think the Cyndi Lauper concert sounds a good idea and even though she is a bit 80s it’s a step in the right direction and could be a commercial winner for the club if we get established on the ‘retro’ circuit. I would imagine the frost blanket would protect the pitch adquately and perhaps with some hardboard panels underneath it.

Right,

The board of the club have fortnightly meetings via Skype. Essentially it's a round table where everyone gets chance to say their piece.

Whether you believe me or not, commercially we are very active. Maybe merch hasn't been a high priority but I'll raise it at our next board meeting. That said were expecting deliveries of stuff imminently.

I'm also due a meeting with Steve Casson to share ideas and information with him, that will be a two way Street as I'm no expert on most matters!

a former member of this forum, I'm being deadly serious now. I'm extending an invite to sit down with me and you can tell me where you think we are going wrong, and where you perceive improvements. I make the same offer to anyone who wants it.

That's not confrontational, I'm simply stating I have an open door and will relay all concerns to the bod.

Now, my position as Trust Rep and Board member does get blury at times, and I face daily challenges. What I can say is that I'm honest to all parties and the judgement will come at the Trust Agm where my position will either be ratified or kicked out. If it gets ratified great, if not I'll take up drawing or learn to play the recorder again ;)

I don't think their is any conflict, many trusts have board reps.

My personal email address is p.garbacz@gmail.com. if anyone wants to put any concerns forward but not do it face to face.

First and foremost I'm a fan of the club, like anyone else I want to see it do well in and off the field.

Devil’s advocate - noun, a person who is having a boring summer and expresses a contentious opinion in order to provoke debate or test the strength of the opposing arguments.

Yes a former member of this forum likes a debate but that shouldn't distract from his point being right......the shop situation needs sorting. Even Bradford Park Avenue had a club shop full of various club branded Nike gear amongst other basic merchandise and they play at a running track
