Get well soon Joel lad.
I doubt it. We'll be fielding fringe team players in that tournament.

Sorry for the lad - hope he comes back and proves his potential.

Massive blow for us and Joel. Hope he makes a full recovery and we get a good stand in.

Well scouted Sir

ridiculous comment. im not dixons biggest fan nor do i think he is the best keeper out there however to suggest us of this opinion are "happy" that a young lad has been injured and will be out for the season is a poor comment to make. I wish joel a speedy recovery regardless of my opinion on his ability.

That's the trouble when posters slag a player off, it's disloyal for one thing (in my opinion) and then something like this comes along and you look bad and probably feel bad too.'#???????????????????????????????????????????

Sorry about that last bit the cat was walking on the keyboard.

having an opinion on someones footballing ability and wishing ill on their health are two completely different things.
I have never done the latter. so no, i dont feel bad.

So what about encouragement and "support" - is there room for that do you think for a young player who's ability or performance levels you might not rate?

Gutted for the lad, 1 of the best shot stoppers we've had for a long time. Yes he has faults, just like any keeper, not just at this level but at any level. Hopefully he can overcome this injury with youth being on his side and come back stronger and develop into real quality

Absolutely best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.
We know his strengths and weaknesses. Great saves - e.g last weekend v Solihull Moors compared with mistakes in the air e.g Woking.
Goalies who can pull off great instinctive saves, AND catch, kick and throw well tend to play at a very high level.
A distinct possibility for our excellent lad eventually.
In this league, because generally there are less shots and chances on goal created than footy higher up, I'd prefer to see a strong, 6 yard box and beyond dominator, rather than a shot stopper, between the sticks as we go through the season.
If the new Swedish lad has it all, happy days, but personally I hope he's sound rather than dramatic.

Sorry bud, I meant any young player generally who isn't quite cutting it, not Joel specifically.

An old pro who is going through the motions is always fair game for a bit of light barracking by some as is their want, but a young player should always be encouraged I think.
