Where will we finish

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

We are short on numbers mate. Lucky to fill a bench never mind put quality on it....
Almost forgot. We need a goalie too......Dixon is injured

Our manager is no mug. He will give it everything and demand such from his backroom staff and players. Friendlies are useful to check our other players etc but having seen the Furness select better us then they are nothing to predict the season.
It all starts now on Saturday forget the build up. We will be 🔥 up for Saturday and everyone should get down there and support our club.
Let’s be positive it’s time for a new era. Forget the past years these players and Ian Evatt deserve our backing.

Avoid the drop I will be happy. The new squad doesnt inspire me, but with a bit of Barrovian grit and determination you never know. Tough opener against a promoted team chomping at the bit will tell us more next Saturday. Could be a hell if a bumpy ride this season, just how we like it. C'mon Barrow!!
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

Hope I'm wrong, but I think we will be relegated. Ten games in we may have more of a clue.

No idea

Only seen them in non-competitive games so far, and that's nowt to go off.

I'd rather have these lads with a point to prove though, rather than some of those that were here for a payday last season.

It doesn't take a rocket science to work out that if we wait ten games we'll all obviously be in a better position to make a prediction as to how the campaign will finish. But making a guess now I'd say there are definitely worst teams in this league ..the likes of Solihull and Gateshead to name but two, also our players and management team seem as if they're hungrier for success this season than they were at this stage last year. Plus whatever we achieve in the National League this time around is a bonus because we should really be playing in the National League North. So this really is a bonus season. I think we will finish 14th. Looking forward to someone bringing out all these predictions at the end of the campaign

I think you're comments are bang on. Thing is though, a lot of people-are saying 'give the team ten games or so and then we will have a fair indication of how they are going to do over the season'-fair enough-but, if those first ten games prove to be a real struggle what will be the reaction of the fans be ?. I can see gates dropping and the ones that stick with the team getting on the teams backs which could prove to be disastrous !.

Not even kicked a competitive ball yet and some of you are throwing in the towel.

Those using words like guaranteed and definately are idiots who knows what might happen.

I think if this group of players gives 100 percent then they will get the support both home and away, I'm actually looking forward to the season.. Its always better being a fan with our backs against the wall and with low expectations

There’s always the danger of opinions being misconstrued as facts, particularly at this time of the year.
Deep down it’s all about hope, and in sport hope has never been a strategy.
As we all know no one has a clue what’s going to happen. The ones with big egos will “say I told you so” if it all goes pear shaped later into the season, and they’ll keep quiet if it doesn’t. I would like attractive footy to be played and that we stay up; keeping Pedro off the subject of not reinforcing the squad two seasons ago would be a bonus.

As I see it you just choose a number between 1-24 as it's just a harmless prediction thread. I'm sure the original poster meant no harm from it!! :D

Agree with above.

Obviously hard to say off a few pre-season games but from what I’ve seen - hopefully not flirting with relegation all season again but I can’t see us bothering any position consistently above 16th, finishing anywhere around that, playing decent football by a group of lads who actually care would be fantastic.

My big worry is we appear to have a team full of lads who are committed, honest players but fall short on quality. I don’t know how far that will get us against settled CN sides.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Usual negative posts on here. As for a completely rebuilt squad well we had to after the dross last season. Top 10 but never really troubling the play off places will do for me
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

I'd be happy with that, as a springboard for moving onwards and upwards in the following season.

A decent FA Cup or Trophy run as well would be a welcome bonus.
