But this point about Biggins has been made here over and over. But highlighting it by starting a new thread 30 mins into a match we were winning is at best churlish and at worst mean-spirited. And your claim to the authority of "having played at a far higher level than most" doesn't cut any ice, either. All opinions here are equally valid. Even this one. Even Pedro's. ;)
Let's just say, for Desmond2-2's sake, that playing at a higher level does cut some ice. Mark Boyd's opinion yesterday (and, to be fair, he has played at "a far higher level than most") was that all 3 in midfield did exactly the job they had to do. Nothing spectacular, they just grafted and worked as a unit to stop the Port Vale threat. But maybe he's wrong and Adam should have someone else sat by his side who has far greater insight into the game.
Yeah, I guess. I realised about five minutes after posting that my "all opinions are equally valid" stance isn't really logically defensible. After all, you wouldn't take my opinion over that of a structural engineer if you were building a new bridge over to Barrow Island.

But then, I'm sure Mark Boyd wouldn't resort to, say, "Well, I played over 5,000 games for Barrow and almost scored at Wembley" in the event of him having a tactical disagreement with Adam in the commentary box. It's all a bit "Do you know who I am?". And my point about the redundancy and meanspiritedness of the thread stands.
No bubblewrap unpopped.

Agreed.

Did Biggins play in the last two games?

Did we win the last two games?

Cut the lad a bit of slack. If anyone thinks they can do better get in touch with the manager.

In my opinion Biggins is crap. He’s had 2 games where he’s been fairly average which doesn’t make up for the utter crap he’s been producing this season. Also, Can we not have differences in opinion on this forum anymore?

Desmond2-2 wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 9:14 am Well Blue Nige I’ve played at a far higher level than most on here believe me, and Biggins has been ineffective, and pretty clueless every game. His positioning is terrible,he continually gives the ball away and infact is a waste of a shirt. So I can only criticise after a deafest can I? He’s obviously a player fleetwood signed, then realised his ability, then said let’s loan him to Barrow for the duration of his contract.
Except he played 23 League One games for them in the 18/19 season...

Sorry you've played at a far higher level than me I shouldn't really point this out

One minute people are talking about mid table and above and the next, defending mediocre players who have produced nothing, outside of a tap in from a deflection, and, an admittedly very good, ball into the box all season. He doesn't even do "the hard yards" unseen, donkey work, like a Jason Taylor type.
It's not a vendetta against the lad, or any of our players. We all want them to do well. But in many people's opinion (note, opinion) he just isn't producing enough.
If we want to be ambitious, remembering all the noise about survival being a [SwearFilter] poor target, why are we suddenly ok with mediocre performances? The other two midfielders battled all game. If Biggins is the attacking option of the three, why does he consistently pass backwards or to the opposition? If he isn't, then why won't he make a tackle? He doesn't play killer balls, doesn't run at people, takes a very poor set piece.
Much the same as Jack Hindle, I WANT the lad to prove everyone wrong, I do. But to me, his is the first position that should be "strengthened" in the transfer window, along with a couple of other midfielders. The midfield is the weakest link in our side and has been all season. And that's not to say everyone has been awful, all of the time. Not at all. It's saying it's a definite area to strengthen and improve the link from back to front.

Just my opinion and it may or may not be right. Hopefully he'll score a hat trick and pick up MOTM on Tuesday and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Yep me too, now I’ve seen him play on many occasions I’m the same, don’t like him anymore. I’ve just watched yesterday’s game again, I seriously think Aberdeen Steve would have been more beneficial to Barrow if he’d played than Boggins.

His improvement in the last two games could well be down to the improved coaching he's had now that Dunn has gone.

I suggest those criticising (and I accept it's an opinion) have another look at Biggins and all the other players you consider to be crap after the new management team have had a chance to work with the players. :skill:

Absolutely. I've nothing against him personally, but his performances have been below standard and his role in that midfield seems a bit confused and results in not much of anything.
I hope you're right and he, and others, take off under the new management. As I say, I'll be happy if we're all proved wrong. Much like I've been more than happy to see us play well with 3 at the back after calling for a back 4. As long as whatever they do regards formation, playing staff, starting 11 etc. Keeps us up, I'll be happy. :scarf:

I've not been Biggins biggest fan this season but as someone previously said theres always one player people take a dislike too and last season even though we were playing well it was Harrison. We've played OK this season and made a few errors which have cost us points so to be fair to the lad did he give away a couple of shocking penalties? Or awful back passes which lead to goals against us? If we cut them out we'd be much higher in the league. Do u think he does enough ? Tackles - very few, key passes - more backwards tbh, goals - hes missed a few chances and scored 2 ? He isn't Rooney, Hardcastle or Kay and he is here on loan for a reason, to gain experience just like Reid and Sea ! Gribbin was at Man utd and he can't even get on the bench. Theres a few that i feel aren't up to the standard to push us further so hopefully the new manager will have looked and will assess the squad and once the transfer window opens some changes will be made.

Would any of the Biggins fans sign him permanently if he is made available in January?
