Tony Parkes ex Spurs & won the Cup winners euro cup wasn’t it?

Keeper from the Kendal area, can picture him but gone blank on his ruddy name, Got a CL old version medal for Liverpool...Peter McDonald.

After all the silly comments of late, to get back to the topic, what James Phillips was referring to was the fact of how highly he rates Jamie Devitt after watching him for 3 seasons at Carlisle.
Chris Lumsden his co commentator also holds a high opinion of Devitt.
They also gave rave revues about him, when Barrow were linked to signing Devitt before he went to Newport on loan.

It is. He was back at Holker Street for the reunion at the Notts County game

The discussion isn’t about best player, it’s about biggest signing
Definitely not the best player but I remember us paying a fee for Kevin Rapley was a big deal; was years since we’d paid for someone iirc?

Was Mike Marsh really considered that big a signing at the time? My recollection isn't that he was. He was certainly excellent, but I don't remember it being considered massive. Billy Kenny a few seasons earlier was considered bigger at the time I think, as was Andy Mutch the season after Marsh first signed. Although Mutch was largely shite and uninterested once here.

I remember when Brian Kidd was signed as manager and look what happened there! A candidate for our worst manager just behind Norman Bodell. :)
