That's fair enough and I respect everyone's opinion... However, let's not go calling people "cowards" for exercising their own personal rights and freedoms. Everyone has a choice and everyone will be exercising their choice based on their own risk assessment. My personal one is based on the fact I'm a nurse, I've nursed people with COVID and have seen how quickly people can succumb to it's symptoms. I'm not scare mongering, I'm just saying, that's what I'm basing my decisions on.
In a similar vein, I have been called irresponsible (by colleagues) for choosing to go to the football. I respect their opinion, but fully disagree with their views. I don't call them cowards for sharing a differing opinion. Personally, I'll have any and all boosters offered, I'll have my flu jab, I'll keep my distance from people. I also won't lick the crush barriers or other fans. It's all about common sense, knowing what you're comfortable with and such like.
I feel we've all been though hell, especially those that work in health, social and other supportive roles. People who've been furloughed, made redundant and just been bored in their houses, with the pubs closed. It's been awful for ages. The football gives everyone a chance to escape for a short time and I really don't want to give that up. That's just my view, feel free to disagree with my waffle. Yesterday, being back in the ground was amazing and the most normal I've felt in well over 18 months. I don't want to lose that again!

If the Government make it law that you need to show you have been vaccinated then the club WILL refuse entry as it will have no choice.

Of course but that is not the current situation

Where is your logic on this?
You won't tell one person at the ground when asked but have freely told many people on here you have had both doses of the vaccine.

But you would be denying no one but yourself. We will all have to make changes to how we go about getting on with life. All this would be is showing you've had both jabs which you are happy to say you've had.

I regard the vaccine certificate as an infringement of personal rights. My views are that freedom of choice and personal responsibility are being denied. Make of it what you will but an open air venue is low risk so let's get on with it

Should not everyone also show they have received vaccinations for flu, measles, mumps, smallpox, polio, meningitis, etc. etc?

Some of my friends were genuinely concerned about the risks of the vaccine when I had it. Again its all about personal choice in my opinion. Good night all :D

"It won't harm the majority of us"

Have a look at which age group is filling half of ICU nowadays...

I’ll presume you meant the young folk. Read this from the ONS and you might want to do more research before try take a moral higher ground against us younger people.

“ Positivity rates were highest among teenagers and young adults (school Year 12 to age 24 years) and lowest in groups aged 70 years and over (week ending 17 July 2021). While hospital admission rates remain highest in those aged 75 years and over, rates in those aged 25 to 44 years are higher than in age groups between 45 and 74 years (week ending 18 July 2021). This is likely to reflect a higher proportion of fully vaccinated adults among those aged 45 to 74 years compared with those aged 25 to 44 years. The proportion of deaths involving COVID-19 has been highest in those aged 75 years and over throughout the pandemic, however, this proportion has decreased since January”

Think you've massively misunderstood the point. I'm also in the same age bracket as (presumably) yourself, but nowt to do with vaccines. The fact is, ICU has loads of 'younger' people with covid and no known underlying health conditions.

Define loads, I read an article the other day with the headline something like “ hospitalisations up over 200%” and it was something like 6 people to 19. Definitely more scaremongering. On a side note I’ve had my vaccine and awaiting my second but MSM make things sound so much worse until you read between the lines
