Why is it infuriating, around 2200 Barrow fans, I think is fantastic and something to build on, couple of seasons ago we were jubilant if we got over 1200….. How many did you expect and where were those people going to come from, many football fans play or watch local matches on a Saturday and do you really think there are that many other potential fans in Barrow with only a population or around 65,000 going to come along…..

Great battling from the team today!,Josh Gordon never stops that back 3 !, we were all over the place at times but hey we won,it was a good game though referee was good ( let a few tackles go).
The attendance 2200 from Barrow is poor we got more in the National league, like people say they'll all want a Villa ticket!
Anyway will enjoy my tea tonight (even better if Liverpool lose!)

Couple of home wins sets the standard. Nobody is expecting miracles but be decent at home, pick up a few results away and we should hopefully be nowhere near the bottom this season. Keep it up!

Great game, like a toe to toe slug fest at the end. Away fans made a lot of noise. Great to be back. Loved it.

Can see there being changes to the segregation, cant see the club putting up with the lids from both sides trying to get at each other every other week. No wonder we struggle for stewards.
You're right Jonty at one time I thought it was all going to kick off! it was pretty tense outside where both sets of fans mingle, don't know why the police don't keep the away fans back ,they can in the Premier league etc,!

First home league game of the season and knowing there is to be a healthy away support and we turn out no more than we may have done in the National League. I think you'll find most will agree with me and be disappointed. You say an attendance to build on, what will we get in a bad weather day in the middle of February when there are less than 50 away fans expected?

It was a very entertaining game with Barrow being pegged back twice before sealing the victory. 100 minutes of end-to-end action made this more like a cup tie. Zanzala’s fantastic solo effort 2 minutes 25 seconds in was a superb curtain-raiser, winning the ball by the right touchline on the halfway line, sprinting down the wing and then into the area to slide the ball inside the left post. At the other end, Burey was a continuous threat, an incisive run down the left being snuffed out at the last second four minutes before he levelled for the visitors in the 17th minute with a header from Sterry’s cross.
Less than two minutes into the second half we regained the lead, Brough’s excellent cross being turned in by Gordon. Three minutes later, Sterry’s deflected free kick was well held by Farman. Sea replaced Zanzala, then on the hour Goodwin pegged Barrow back again as the goalfest continued. Kay then replaced Williams and Banks shot wide from distance in the 68th minute. Arthur was then booked for fouling Burey and was promptly replaced by Brown.
The winner arrived three minutes later in the 72nd minute as Kay assisted Sea to slot in from from close-range.
Five minutes later Sea went down injured; after treatment and then going down again with concussion he had to be replaced by fourth substitute James. The ensuing ten minutes of added time were nail-biting at times but the well-battled three points were ours. Attendance 2,846 including 619 visiting fans, and today’s victory can only encourage still more Barrow fans to come along on Tuesday to the Exeter game.

Barrow, Dalton and Ulverston and surrounding villages is a catchment population of at least 90,000 with no other team within 40 miles so yes I expected more.

We are still building a fan base and the club / team needs to build an identity within the community. It takes time and we are not there by a long way. Unfortunately we lost a lot of momentum we had due to the pandemic and we now have to build that back up.
It was a good game though and both teams applauded off the pitch. Those who went will spread the word that we have a good team in the making here.

Hope you're right Jonty and I shall just concentrate on a great result and good performance.

Don’t really get that, when most of the community are scouse / United / city fans etc. Whe’re has the the identity been built with Manchester or Liverpool? My opinion, it’s nothing to do with that, its about having a good team, playing entertaining football, which we did today. Hopefully word gets around and we keep pulling in the glory supporting locals. On another note it was good seeing the fanzone still being used as a watering hole after the game .

You sound like you only bothered about impressing other people with your attendance stats. If your there yourself why are you bothered about the number of people there

So you don't recognize the correlation between good attendances and a successful club or at least a self sufficient club?
