Loved it. Good atmosphere and not too loud.
The best for me was the AV fans singing We'll Meet Again. πŸ™‚
Yes more Vera Lynne gramophone recordings would be welcome played at just the right level so as to be inaudible.

Don’t know where you were situated in the ground but it was stupidly loud in the main stand. It’s not just the volume, but the quality of the pa. it was being overdriven and was distorting and was at times painful. So much so my Dad turned his hearing aids off!

I'm sure when Darren returns next home game, normal service will resume.

They are your era Wintergreen. Enjoy.

It was way overloud on the Popular Side. Except, strangley, for the second-half walk out music, which I could barely hear. Half-time is for catching up with people though...common sense, no?

Quite so. Maybe I could be your boogie woogie bugle boy at Barrow AFC?

Really 3 pages on the loudness of the music. If you want to talk go to a coffee morning.
Some people are never happy

By that rationale...we are all there to watch football. That's what we give our money for.
So, if you want to listen to music - go to a club
If you want to have a drink - go to a bar
If you want to have a pie - go to a pie shop

That all follows, right? Take it all out of the equation and just leave the football .
Alternatively, the music can be cranked down from deafening and people can decide to either converse or listen to the music. Common sense, no?

No not saying leave the football. What I am saying there is a time and a place for everything.
The way that it has gone over the years at football is to keep people entertained.
The football entertains
At half time there is music ….to try and entertain.
The football is not Wetherspoons we’re the philosophy was that art of conversation is how we entertain people.
Maybe you might want to play your rattle or doff your flat cap and think of Sir Stanley Matthew’s to entertain your thoughts

You haven't addressed the really deafening level of the music volume. That's the issue. It was ridiculous. It isn't usually, but on Saturday it was.
I do have a flat cap (because I'm that cool)...but I'm not annoying enough to have a rattle.

If you like music you wouldn't go to Holker Street to listen to it ,it's really old and not exactly cutting edge I think you're just trying to wind people up!πŸ˜‰

Not trying to wind people up. Just think people need to chill out. More pressing issues like
getting more players in
hoping the training is sorted
Injuries getting sorted
Not trying to hear how Ethel is doing with growing her petunias whilst at the football
Where is the priorities for a genuine fan?
Sorry but other pressing issues for me…. no wind up

All those topics are being discussed by those who want to discuss them on other threads. Someone started this thread to specifically talk about the music. Let us know when we are able to do so will you? Is there a limit of three things that can be discussed? Are some things that detract from the enjoyment of the day not up for debate?

Since when has complaining about the loudness of the music over the tannoy become an ageist problem
Ok so we were around in the great days of Sir Stanley Matthews, Tom Finney and the great Pele and have seen all the others who have followed on.
The music genres have come and gone and I do have a rattle. So what? Do we have to apologise for living too long?
I think conversations, whether about petunias or not, are important as some people when retired don't have the opportunity to mix and meet the same as younger ones. The football could be the main highlight of their week
