Re: January Farewells
[You think Cooper didn’t give a yes on Zanzala lol? He would’ve been well aware who was coming in[/quote]
But probably expected him to be up front with Quigley who then jumped ship

Why make posts like this when you should know most are on 2 year contracts, to mention Beadling is very unfair he had a decent first season and is out through no fault of his own, Devitt's contract is supposed to end in January, Arthur is a loan player, the rest I know we are stuck with, so leave it, nothing we can do but put them out on loan if they would even go.mickycarrol wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 9:35 am Massive clear out needed in an ideal world I’d be getting rid of numerous players costing us a fortune and replacing with better quality :
Sea
Devitt
Beadling
Luke James
Kosi
Zanzala
Arthur
Re: January Farewells
Surely the chairman must know the value of players, and agrees the salary. zanzala was plucked from the grasps of Bradford , as they refused to pay his requested salary..guessing barrow were prepared to pay.LewisBAFC1901 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 12:42 pmThe board? Ogden? manager?bluessupporter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 12:26 pm
That is indeed obvious but what names do you have of those people?

According to an interview with Paul Hornby around mid September Mark Hetherington agreed to come back and head up a project to look at improving the clubs training infrastructure for the medium and long term future.

You're totally missing the point irrespective of how we signed XYZ it's how we arrived at that conclusion, we absolutely cannot afford to keep making basic errors in our judgement in making this decisions that are costing us dearly!

Re: January Farewells
To be honest, zanzala has been the ultimate flop for whatever reason. As far as the rest are concerned iMO they are as good as I expected them to be…. which is not very.
As a group they’d be a reasonable bunch were it not some key weaknesses. That’s why Zanzala is such a huge mistake. He’s clearly not a MC type of player. He belongs somewhere else……anywhere else.

Re: January Farewells
unless there are loans out or mutual termination of contracts then we'll be stuck with the players - the only exception being Arthur who i think Hull will recall because of lack of game time. Luke James who like Gordon runs all day for the team i wouldn't be surprised to see loaned to somewhere like Halifax as he's not getting game time - and would drop down the pecking order behind any new strikers brought in. I wouldn't be surprised to see the odd player loaned out to Altrincham as we seam to have a good relationship with them - if we get more players in.

I think that’s right, a recent role.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 3:08 pmAccording to an interview with Paul Hornby around mid September Mark Hetherington agreed to come back and head up a project to look at improving the clubs training infrastructure for the medium and long term future.
No idea who (if anyone) did any sort of background checks on players before that….and Jolley just appeared to have free reign.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: January Farewells
We played some good expansive attacking football early on in the season with the same set of players, we managed momentarily to reach the dizzy heights of 4th in the League. Attitude and confidence have a lot to do with it.

Re: January Farewells
How many players were signed in between managers during the summer, who sanctioned them and is responsible ? We're fitness records and tests done etc...
Re: January Farewells
No offence but Mark Hetherington isn’t really a director of football is he? We need someone experienced in that role to sort this shower out if that’s the route we are going down
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
