In my instance for example the aspect I reported was more the incident itself however I had to include in my report what was said. I won't go into specifics but the term used was more of a throwaway comment as part of a wider barrage but the punishment for this one term was far more than for the incident itself. I'm afraid for me the FA disciplinary protocols, sanctions and support for officials where needed are all woefully inadequate and inconsistent

Timing stinks, 5 months to sort it out?
The FA’s disciplinary processes can be glacial in general - there’s several incidents from October in the January round up, for instance - it’s not an anti-Barrow plot.
I know, just feels like that sometimes. Occasionally it feels good to have a childish rant

Does anyone have even a bit of an idea about what he was supposed to have said?

I'm intrigued, and would have thought the accusation would have been made public somewhere.

Ah, the old snowflake defence is back eh?

No one should be made to feel like a lesser person based on gender nor anything else. If he said it and that is the punishment decreed then so be it, learn from it and move on.

Discrimination is discrimination, there should be no acceptable levels.

Is there any difference to him being sat in the stand or stood a few feet forward in front of it anyway

Looking through the FA website on disciplinary procedures what I don't understand is why it took so long to get to this decision. 6 months. I know the official involved has had some health issues in the autumn but was officiating again by this January. So you would have assumed all the evidence for the FA to consider was in place a while back.

Like it or not this has come at a bad time of the season for this to happen. On the other hand, as others have said, it might produce a siege mentality situation for the team. If its anything like what Fergie created it could work in our favour.

Do we have to embarrass ourselves with the usual nonsense about 'snowflakes'? Let's be honest, that narrative is mostly middle aged and older people who can't accept the fact that the some of the stuff they liked 'back in the day' is maybe a bit offensive and can't handle being told that maybe, just maybe, some of the stuff they thought was OK growing up, wasn't. It makes them feel uncomfortable'.

I think this incident depends on what was said. It seems very harsh. I expect we'll appeal but can claim no knowledge as to whether we will or not.

Home games he will just entertain the Main Stand.

We can't talk about and campaign for equality then allow things to be said, even in the heat of the moment, by our manager. They don't hand out 8 match bans for nothing..

The club should stick another fine on top of it

It seems that one of the alleged remarks may have been to her gender, which, like it or not, is not acceptable in this modern age.

I think that we have gone too far in some forms of political correctness, but in my opinion, it cannot be right that a manager of a football club can shout an abusive comment based on someone's gender or race - if that is what happened.

Mr. Cooper presumably knows what he said, and he and the club are awaiting an explanation of what led to the ban. This is a sensible course of action and will hopefully take some of the heat out of the situation.

So as I approach the end of my years words and phrases I have used all my life are not permitted to be used by me because younger people maybe offended? Language that is not intended to offend but just my vocabulary and local culture?
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

But it's not just younger people is it? It's people of your own age as well.

If you followed your argument they'd show Alf Garnett again - but they don't

I wonder why!
