I think they've all agreed to keep it 'within these 4 walls', Jim. :)

Interesting interview on bbc radio Cumbria after today's friendly game. They thought as phil brown had engaged with the fans it might work with the new director of football in place.. offered job went to lawyers didn't hear anything found out he was searching for other jobs withdrew offer.

Temporary seats to make away end 700 going in, big redevelopment in that corner and in cross bar end next summer costing 800-850k half from grant funding.

Away end? It's The Holker End. And used to be the Home End.
That corner of the HE terrace already has room to house 680 away fans - you say they're installing 20 seats? What's the point?

"Big redevelopment in that corner and in cross bar end next summer costing 800-850k half from grant funding"

Really? :o
Hopefully, the Cross Bar and the Fan Zone will be demolished and seats and terracing installed to make the old Steelworks End the Away End? Fingers crossed :D

I think the away end is something like 575 at the moment isn't it. It would cost millions to knock down and rebuild the steelworks and take far longer than a couple of weeks next summer to build a new stand with offices bars changing rooms etc.

As for this sacred Holker home end stuff before it had a roof it was only ever the home end unless it [SwearFilter] down.

Only reporting how I heard it on bbc radio Cumbria.. I'm guessing its easy to spend other people's money but in reality slow and steady is the way to go

I'm sure I read on here that the away corner holds 680?

To me - and many others - The Holker End will always be the Home End. Roof or no roof. Stood on that terrace since the late 60s.

It makes me laugh all this Holker Street home end business.
When it was first given to the away supporters and the uproar that ensued a meeting was called for fans to make representations and discuss how to approach the club to lodge a protest.
How many turned up? SIX people and of those I think there was only one person who stood on the Holker End.
Seems it wasn't worth making an effort over.

Well what we expected lots of positive talk.
Ian Evatt was a find a man who knew what he wanted to achieve, probably wanted to show Chesterfield they had made a mistake

The next few appointments were unbelievable.
Men who had really made it financially made it.

My Mam and Dad used to listen to the boxing on the radio and would often say the Cuban will win this and I would say why.? The response because they are hungry.

Pete Wild may have that hunger let's hope he can motivate this team.

Thanks Adam.

If we have had quotes for work on the east terrace I presume plans have been drawn up with what we are wanting? Have they been shared so we can at least see what will be there this time next year anyone seen them?
