Garners link up play and unselfish running offf the ball is excellent IMO and as for Proctor. That was his first start since coming back from a few weeks off with a back injury. From all accounts he did well coming off the bench at Northampton.

Other than Farman and Canavan there aren’t really many BAFC that play a full 90 minutes in every game these days.

Both Proctor and Garner came on at Northampton for the last 20 and were effective when they came on.

If they can do that and we keep getting results why would you throw them away and have to bed others in. It’s about the squad not just the team.

That first half performance, from the majority of Barrow players on the pitch, was shamefully apathetic (and pathetic). Garner has been a massive disappointment in nearly every appearance. Jason Walker could have climbed down from the gantry and put in a better performance. I think he will be, and should be, moved on in the new year.

I know Proctor is getting game to get match fit and is probably lacking sharpness but Garner / Proctor just don’t look like they are a threat. Garner was more involved second half but his main job is surely to get into positions to stick the ball in the net and he was nowhere near it all game. We managed to get back into it through two unlikely goal scorers but the team needs front players who are a constant threat.
In games we put some decent balls into positions that strikers should be all over. I’m basing this not just on last nights game but all games I’ve seen them paired up.

I love this idea that we can simply say bon voyage to players whenever we want.

Garner is on a three year deal. It’s being suggested that we ship him out anywhere we can at significant cost. Presumably we then look for a replacement at significant cost.

And yet here we sit praising a squad that is achieving exactly what the manager tells us he wants to achieve at this point - a 1.5ppg average.

Atm I don’t detect any desire on the part of PW to get rid of any of his squad unless forced to. We’ve been through this with Warren and I don’t expect him to leave either.

My instincts tell me that both Garner and Proctor are having their roles redefined rather than terminated.

And to address a comment made above, to my knowledge we have no “first team squad” as such. Just a squad. The “B” Team does not exist as a full squad and was never meant to.

A bit daft to think the club will just move Garner on willy nilly a mere 12 months after costing us a decent (in terms of our finances) transfer fee. The three year contract suggests a there's a longer term strategy behind it. He won't go unless someone stumps up some cash we can't refuse or there's better alternatives for all parties.

No matter how many times you say it posters on this forum assume you can get rid of players whenever you want. You'd think people will have learned by now you can't.

Still too early to be writing any regular within this squad off once and for all.

Quite a bit of talking down to people going on here. Some assumptions and terminology are being inserted as though it is correct and accurate.
It wouldn't make sense to move anybody on IF three is going to be a significant financial loss.
But sometimes, the loss is not as big as you think when future wages are taken into account.
But sometimes, a player may WANT to move on himself because things have not gone to plan.
But sometimes, another club may be interested and offer a fee that makes it a negligible loss or even break even.
All of this may be by-the-by because management do indeed have a longer term plan in mind. However, so far, his (Garner) showings have mainly been very poor and I don't think it is anything but sensible to assess what he can offer the team.
