The general consensus seems to be that Fleetwood supplied the evidence that led to the three game ban. If that’s the case, I think it’s very sad on Fleetwood’s behalf. What have they to gain from doing this ? it just seems spiteful. They’d already won the match, and it’s not as though we’re going to be playing them soon. So Whitfield’s ban will be against other sides. You’d have thought a side managed by a former Barrow boss would not go down that route. In my opinion it says a lot about the nature of some people.

If true you only had to watch Pete Wilds interview pre the game at Holker street to see and hear how bitter he was in the way it ended for him at Barrow.
