I think playing a game against someone like Mansfield will be a good run out to see how things are developing.
An interesting point I was at Altrincham football ground yesterday and they've brought in the touch lines quite significantly for this season. I sign of things to come in the National league - the long ball game and lack of wide men? Alti played with a lot of width last season.

Barracelona they called us last time we won promotion out of the national league under Evatt! Total football no long balls then which he got some stick for initially but it worked.

It did and it was fantastic to watch, probably the best football I've seen at Holker St in 40 years, but would we have won the league if the season wasn't stopped? Teams had started to fathom us out, Football is forever evolving with different systems etc so I'm all for mixing it up depending on the opposition, and I think the recruitment has us set up to do just that

Agree, the football and the intensity was without doubt the best football I had seen at HS.
Would we have won the league? I think we would but that's my own opinion.

Just to get some decent wins this year will be a huge improvement over the last season a d as long as the players are united and fight for the cause, that will do for me.

If they play consistently fluid and exciting football then even better.

I'm very optimistic for the season ahead, I genuinely believe that the players we have signed will make a big difference. Another forward or two would be nice but if the supply from elsewhere isn't good enough, even having Harry kane won't make a difference..

Onwards and upwards, fingers crossed we are all happy come next may.

Would we have won it in normal time, we’ll never know. Not so sure teams had fathomed us out more we had a couple of players lose a bit of form perhaps, and the team had a little dip in form as always happens to any team in a season. There was still a lot of football left but we had been on a hell of a run up until was it Dover away. Quigley was suspended wasn’t he that would’ve hurt us but we were there and got our chance.
Being honest the football since has been nowhere near, it’s a real shame that Evatt and Rooney left when they did as I think we’d have built a lot more on the success with continuity.
At times in the league it’s been tough, desperate and not great to watch, even before the abomination of last season. As sad and avoidable as it was, maybe this will allow us to get a bit of optimism back into people. For them to enjoy matches again and hopefully see some far better football and a team that wins more. Aside from a couple of years under Wild I don’t think anyone really enjoyed the league it was a slog.
