Should never started; and I say that as someone who is always keen to give it every chance. There was multiple parts of the pitch where the ball didn’t even move

Re: Barrow v Forestgreen Rovers match thread
I suppose there are some positives from today at least the bar, refreshment kiosks made a bit of money and the players should be fresh going into Tuesday night’s game. Let’s hope that’s on at Halifax.

Got to agree, the ref gave it a go, so I think it is unfair to knock him for that.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 4:07 pm Fair play to the ref he gave it ago.
Pretty obvious after ten minutes that the standing water was making it unplayable.
Refs can’t win they get criticism if they call games off or try to play.
Don’t really understand people being upset for the sake of 15 minutes, I’d rather him do that than what that clown did a couple of seasons ago. Unfortunately it was fairly obvious that it couldn’t have carried on though.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Barrow v Forestgreen Rovers match thread
It was looking good for us John with two crosses in the 8th and 9th minute, the first across the goal and the second fired by Thompson straight at their goalie. However in the 12th minute, the decision to abandon was probably reinforced when the ball became mired in the mud between Oakley and Winterbottom. Fortunately their player shot wide and high of the right post.

Sam Barrott was the clown he called the game off for a two foot square patch of slightly frozen pitch on popular side. He is now referring in The Premier Leaguespirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 4:38 pmGot to agree, the ref gave it a go, so I think it is unfair to knock him for that.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 4:07 pm Fair play to the ref he gave it ago.

Reminiscent of when Dover jibbed out of a game with us, in the Ian Evatt era.

Ball never reached Winterbottom through the standing water - see Twitter video above.Barrow Lad New wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 4:47 pmIt was looking good for us John with two crosses in the 8th and 9th minute, the first across the goal and the second fired by Thompson straight at their goalie. The standing water was there before kick off. It was a poor call to even start the game by the official.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 4:07 pm Fair play to the ref he gave it ago.

Klukowski told the fourth official he wanted to take his team off the pitch for "player safety".
The fear factor is back.
