Several sides have already put players and staff on furlough or temporary leave. However, a £125m advance from the Premier League to the EFL and National League will not be distributed "while additional clarity is sought on other financial matters, particularly in respect to player wages".

Apparently the money is not being distributed while clarity is sought on other financial matters particular in respect to player's wages.

The latest suggestion doing the rounds is to complete the EFL season in 56 days in summer behind closed doors, including play offs and finals. Farcical.

With regards to this £125m. Yes just reading today that these are advance payments of monies that would normally come through in August. So basically not additional support funding. I initially thought this was an additional fund to assist clubs through the crisis and help with loss of match day revenues.

Yes i do know this!, sorry im just starting to lose interest in the game. Everything from VAR to this.

Would a more balanced solution to this issue be to put this season on hold with the current games outstanding. Commence next season with the same teams with the first 7, 8 or 9 games played being those outstanding from this season. Play them and determine which teams win promotion at that point. No play offs just two up / two down. Points acquired at that point between the promoted and equivalent demoted team would be averaged out. The teams then joining the new league with a fairish points acquired. I know it’s radical, and I know it will fall on deaf ears but I’ve got it off my chest.

God only knows when we will see a proper pre-season again but wouldn't it be nice if, for the next few seasons, the big clubs forewent the traditional tours of USA or Japan or anywhere else far-flung, and instead brought their first team squads to the smaller local clubs? It would be a great boost for finances, especially if they gave up their portion.
