Can we afford Pocchettino then? Of course there is a limit on what any club can afford.
I thought you would have got the gist of the post without taking it to the extreme
You clearly can't read between the lines then -
if Alexander wants x amount of money then he is out of our price range, it's that simple.

Lets face it, who ever Barrow choose as the next manager people are going to either like or dislike the bloke for his previous club record, his attitude etc - all i want is to see the team play like they are but without the silly mistakes so we actually pick up points, oh and a couple of extra midfielders to improve the squad! We need to stay in this league at all costs or with the right bloke get in thr playoffs (hey you never know).

Didn't one of our former managers have to apologise for a bit of an expletive rant on BBC RC? I'd take someone with his passion for the job and club any day.
Was that the one who offered to fight everyone as well?
I got ridiculed on here a bit back then when I said that Manager needed some help with his health and mental condition at that time. A good guy who should have been on sick leave back then I thought.
No he didn't offer to fight "everyone". The confrontation was with ONE person. He was in the wrong and should have walked away but didn't.
Congratulations Dave on the birth of your daughter two days ago. A hell of a gap between the new arrival and 16year old Joe.

Do those lines really exist though?
You don’t actually know the amount he would want nor the amount we willing to pay to give us the best fighting chance to secure L2 safety & funding.

If the candidates are from L1 L2 or NL then they won't want the wages the championship or PL managers get paid. If they are out of work and not getting wages then do you want a job ? Put yourself in the shop window ? Get paid ? I totally understand some managers will be used to 5k a week where as DD was on what 1.5k ? (Guessing here) but Barrow will have a limit they want to go so a negotiation can take place and if they think nope thats too much (esp if they have to terminate his contract down the line) then they might pass that opportunity by! The most expensive person doesn't always mean you'll get the right man for the job

I’m afraid he did offer to fight ‘anyone’ post match and on Radio Cumbria; l remember thinking he’s not in a good place and l have never heard any manager come out with anything like it.
However, that is great news to read in your post and I’m glad Dave is happy again. He did a great job at Barrow as a player and a manager.

Micheal Jolley isn’t exactly the experienced manager Hornby says he wants. Could be a hazard.

Experienced in the context of what we need is a Manager who can come in and lift the team up to safety. Jolley did just that with Grimsby but his overall record isn't great. Its whether he could do it here. Im staying confident that whoever gets the job can help us climb the table as we have a team who have shown we can get a result (ok it was only one game, but you can see its there). It would be a lot harder if we were nowhere near a competing side.

Just as you don't sack a manager after a couple of defeats, you don't hire one after a couple of wins either.
I agree, but keeping a caretaker in charge while he has the team performing well makes sense.

I don't think ,it's as simple as keeping us up, I'm sure the board now after Evatt and David Dunn wamt some kind of stability so I think they'll want someone to yes keep us up but also to establish us going forward and to have a plan for the future!

I was very surprised to see Jolley's name linked to the Barrow job but he'd be an interesting choice. I was following Grimsby Town quite closely during his tenure because I'd backed them. Fortunes were mixed, with some bad runs and some exciting periods. A fantastic battling performance at Crystal Palace in The F.A. Cup was a particularly memorable game. He did keep Grimsby up when there was a real danger of them dropping back out of the league and maintained their safety the next season. I was astonished when the tape of his foul mouthed rant became public. I couldn't believe it coming from him. However, let's hope he's learned from his time at Blundell Park. If he gets the position he'll know he must succeed or possibly have to go back to his earlier career. I'd back him to keep you up although David Flitcroft would be a safe pair of hands. For now letting Kelly continue as caretaker makes a lot of sense.

Yes of course. A Manager who can do that first this season and establish the club is ideal. I’m leaning towards Jolley after doing a bit of research as I think he fits that longer term vision. Yes he was very unprofessional in his expletive-laden rant that led to his dismissal at Grimsby but he paid the price with his job will have hopefully learned from that as a person. As a manager he comes across as tactically astute and modern thinking. Understands and supports the promotion of a club in the community. Could be a good fit for both parties.

I can agree with all that & it’s horses for courses isn’t it.
Scenario, If you get 1 stand out candidate that ticks all the box’s & wants the job but wants a few hundred Quid more than your offering, What do you do?
I know what id do but it’s only my opinion
85k per season or 1.2 Million & all the extra grants funding etc.
Regarding Jolly & Dave’s outburst’s, They are only human & we all have said things we regret or had an outburst or 2......It doesn’t define your whole life & wouldn’t put me off from employing them....IF...They were the type I was looking for.

Oh anyone then not everyone. I am sure similar things will have been said over the years in the footballing world.
At least he didn't do a Cloughie who actually did lamp a fan.

According to Bradford forum Paul Hurst looks nailed on for their gig (1-15 with Skybet) leaving all the other 'candidates' still looking for a job.
