Did anyone else read the comments from Russell Dodd in the evening mail?

He described Alex Meechan as doing an 'excellent job' and also said Dave Bayliss is a 'superb manager'.

This is one of the men who will ultimately decide who is the right man to take Barrow AFC forward.

So my six fingered friend your logic is that if you resign from your job your old employer can sue your new one for the wages he would have paid you if you hadn't resigned?

Call me a conspiracy theorist but the open training session being cancelled makes me think that Meechan is out of the running and the new appointment is imminent. I have an idea who it is.

Hand on heart, the only reason for the cancellation is to look after the pitch. Nothing more.

To be honest whoever we appoint we willl be lucky to top 800 this season we will just have to grin and bear it,also it will be tough for whoever gets it!

as for the attractive football the last time i saw anything near that was when we beat wrexham/kidderminster a few seasons ago to be honest i`m not expecting much different to change unless we have a secret benefactor in the shadows!

we all have to accept that it`s going to be a long way back to the conference and even with a new face it will be like starting again but it`s all going to take time there is no magic fix!

Contracts in football FOR PLAYERS are different because inter alia they may be subject to a transfer fee, have value, image rights and a whole host of other items WHEREAS this doesn't apply to the manager who is simply an employee like the rest of us with no transfer fee or value to be considered or lost. Managers at a higher level may well have clauses such that "compensation" has to be paid if they are sacked or go elsewhere but unlikely at our level.

You would get nowt marra!

It was a poor idea whoever's brainwave it was; call me another conspiracy theorist, but it looks like someone has thrown the toys out of the pram and gone off on one - for some reason. 'To look after the pitch' isn't logical, had it just dawned on the great lateral thinker at the eleventh hour that it just might affect the pitch by training on it?

so when a club sacks a manager they have to pay his contract up? and when they approach another clubs manager they have to agree a compensation package with the other club, but like hibbs have just had to do with inverness.
