Hulbert was never going to play for us again tho was he. He should of been told mind. Happy with the realised/ offered a contract . Agree with Bolland, I wouldn't of got rid of him unless we had someone lined up hopefully. DB's got some one, like others have said a Mcnulty type or even Mcnulty himself ?

Thursdays mail said dave bayliss will meet the players on Friday to let them know who he wants to keep. So why didn't hulbert just go to this meeting then he would know his future instead of twittering about it.

Bit harsh on Baker - our third top scorer with 10 goals and chipped in with 8 assists (same as Jack Mack and joint 14th best in the division). Agree with your point on Smith's crossing...although maybe that says something about our wingers?

Lots of twists to come over the summer folks...players in, players out etc. Should be as exciting/tedious as usual :D

If Ferrell isnt released I would be outraged he has been the worst player in our squad this season by far.

With the 5 that have been released.

Bolland: Prob had his best season, has gone out on a high and does leave a big gap in the experience at the club, but clears the way for a better leader in Skelts to be appointed captain.

Moyo: Shame we didn't keep him, I think next season would have been the one where he started to show his potential. With Smigger and Lomax going he could have had the RB berth.

Lomax: Bags of experience, never showed it and his season and Barrow career never got started.

Smith: The worst decision I have seen to release him, he was hard working, playing out of position and still playing reasonably well. If we had stuck Smith in midfield in place of the ratter-Owen we might have had some more quality going forward. He could deliver a mean cross and was one of the players I looked forward to seeing develop at the club. Very short-sighted of Bayliss to get rid of a player who was more than enough for this level. Would like to see him invited back in Pre-season!

Nicholas: Lets be honest he was never going to be staying. He started to show some potential in the past few weeks, but nothing we cant replace in a heartbeat.

A good clear out and the ruthlessness shown by Bayliss is something we have been missing for a few seasons.

Now onto who could be coming in.... could a sensational return for McNulty be on the cards?

Well if my contract in a job was coming to an end, I wouldn't be moaning on stupid social networking sites about it whilst waiting for a call from the manager.I would be phoning him asking what's going on.

I heard that certain "released" players were offered a contract but on a much reduced wage, seems like they choose to go elsewhere and leave and its not all down to DB releasing them as they have forced his hand.

I've obviously missed something somewhere, the interview on RC with Bayliss said that Robin Hulbert wasn't available on Friday to discuss his situation so how can Bayliss be blamed for that. What has gone on since then I don't know but until we hear all then lets not start blaming one person or the other.

Can't say I am really bothered about any that have been released but out of all of them I thought Smith would have been kept.

Roll on August when all will have been sorted, a new team will be ready and all the presuming, rumour spreading and "I know more than you" on here can be over

Bolland- Now nearer 40 than 30. More and more would be found out by pacy opposition. Don't be surprised if he goes back to Chester as the old head in their revolution. He's actually playing for a Chester Old Boys XI in a charity game next week.
Nicholas - the exit door has been creaking wider since his second week. No surprise
Lomax- Had numerous chances to stake his claim for a regular spot but has fluffed them all. Heart obviously not in it.
Moyo -Another victim of the instant success demanded these days. We are not one of the BSP elite who can afford to wait for players to develop.Impressive at Northwich but apparently not so when he stepped up another level at Droylsden. Could be significant. Only hope he's not this season's 'Dugdale'.
Smith - Some surprise but as others have hinted its not only what goes on on the field that matters. There may be other factors involved and it was noticeable that he missed the last two or three games though not apparently injured.
Ferrell - Cant imagine he's been retained after being frozen out for the second half of the season. Doubt he'd want to come back anyway.
Hulbert- Once more the curse of the Twitter. Surely people don't imagine Bayles has just ignored him to let the media do his job. Suspect Robin thought he was in with a chance of being Bayles No. 2 and is a tad miffed.Plus Peo being offered some sort of a deal though he's been injured just as long. But who's to know what might be offered or not if they haven't even spoken.

Well. From my admittedly limited viewing of Barrow matches, the only players I would have kept if I were looking to be a top-half Conference side would be:-
Hurst, Shaun Pearson, Mike Pearson, Skelton, Smith, Owen, Mackreth, Cook and Boyes.
Therefore, I would say Bayliss has done a pretty good job!
However, that is assuming that they have the resources to get better players than the ones they are releasing.

Good response from him - like him on the pitch or not, he seems like a decent guy to me. He's one of those players who's always going to split opinion here, but in my eyes he did a job.
