Yes good battling performance with a few shots ,which made a change.
Agree with Si, were bit narrow, but result achieved just hope we can push on from this on Tuesday night.

A great day out at Brackley helped by the result of course. A warm and friendly welcome was the order of the Day.

Have to say that Brackley was a smashing place to visit. A decent chippie in the market place followed by possibly one of the smallest pubs around, The Locomotive, just a short stroll from the ground; not much more than someone's front room complete with fish tank, but with a friendly welcome and decent ale at £2.00 a pint - with free peanuts - it was certainly a good choice for pre-match refreshments.

At for the ground itself, as Mark says it was a friendly welcome from a club that seemed to appreciate us being there; of particular note was a club official in the car park speeding up entry to the ground by collecting the fans' money then giving the nod to a nearby colleague to let them in the Officials' entrance. Unorthodox, but it seemed to work. Brackley seem to have done a lot of work on improving their facilities and showed an obvious pride in them.

In short, Brackley was as complete a contrast to Atherstone as it could be.

Must make a note to go back for the league fixture.

Will try out the chippie and the pub (if they can fit us all in) next time we go as the Spoons in Banbury were nothing to write home about. My food took ages to arrive and Darren's ice-cream sundae had a bonus piece of plastic.

Nothing has changed to make those people change their minds.

It's been weeks for me now and I can honestly say I'm not missing it.

The longer I stay away, the harder it will be for me to make a case for coming back and spending the money I'm now getting way more use from.

"Reg" and the Regites! you are entitled to protest in anyway you see fit as are all of us. I don't agree with the way DB goes about some of his business or the board, but we are all human beings and unfortunately make mistakes. Your club needs you more than ever bud but what you decide is your choice. I see you have still been following your team on the forum and protesting so why not come down to Holker st and protest but also support our team!!!

I won't attend another game whilst Bayliss is in charge but it goes a bit deeper than that because I don't believe that the club can move forward under what I think is a very shortsighted BOD.

Maybe it's just run it's course for me and I might not come back for years? I honestly couldn't say for sure.

One point about Bayliss at Brackley was that the entire playing, coaching and support staff acknowledged the fans and came over to applaud the travelling fans for their backing of the team EXCEPT BAYLISS who completely ignored all the fans at every opportunity and headed straight for the changing rooms without even an acknowledgement. Seems like a dead man walking and his sulky behaviour is doing himself no favours at all. Grow up or get out Bayliss.

On the point about Tuesday night I hope nobody is expecting a thriller as the so-called midfield diamond formation means we don't use wingers and are very narrow. In spite of a few defensive mistakes we did battle well and had a few half chances but I get the feeling it will be as tough a game on Tuesday as it was at Brackley and we shouldn't get too confident just because we have a replay.

Bayliss wasn't ignoring the fans as you put it John, he is just finding it very hard at this time. The confrontation at Gainsborough and the following events have had far reaching consequences and he has to deal with them. As long as he is our manager I will back him and the team as I believe that is what a supporter is. The good times are easy, the hard times are not. Others have different views which is their right.

i think hes staying away from potential yet more discord. he didnt come across at vauxhall or atherstone either. i think hes probably trying to do the right thing as the last thing anyone want is another flashpoint. its all very sad and probably too hard to fix which means when he does go it wont be with the thanks he deserves. if only hed gone at the end of last season!

That's the main problem. When the club is doing things right you get it, whatever 'it' is. When it's not, you often don't. The people still attending still get something from it. It's not about loyalty, but many will argue that. It's all about choice.

However, if you can go please do.

Paul, Saltcellar, what I don't understand is this. You both seem happy & content with your choices (Saltcellar for agreeing with Regs post so I assume the same reasons)

You both agree with the fact your not missing it, you also both agree with the fact you are making better use of the money you are saving, you also presumably both agree that you will find it harder to attend as time goes on.

Think I've got all that right. But why do you both still feel the need to post telling people how you feel? we know, you've said it time & again but it's like you are making some sort of crazy recruitment drive to persuade others to stay away.

I've nothing against your personal choice of not attending - that's fine but just leave it at that, why spread your feelings overe & over amonst those who still want to help our club through the hards times when you've both made it quite clear your happy with where you are now.
