Superb team effort.Had everything you want from a football team out there today.Thought it was a nice touch to mention the kids over tannoy, they prob felt a little bit famous too.For whining NF were just about on a par with Kettering town.Great afternoon.
Seasons to be cheerful.Part 16 3/4 :skill:

Pleased that those who can't get to away games have seen the kind of performance that the lads have been producing on the road these last few weeks. A decent run of successive home wins, perhaps?

Been away from any internet all day(thanks ste for updates) delighted with the result. Seems ferriby and their village club directors and manger were the same idiots as at their place. Got a good bet on them this season but hope thy fail.

His mention of us on 606 wasn't very convincing, finally spluttering out that we had beaten "North Ferriby United" and that we were "away".

Edit: This post has absolutely nothing to do with this thread- it was intended for the Praise Indeed thread. And I hadn't been on the sauce at this time.

Great result and performance. We mastered the conditions, they moaned about them. :flag:

They moaned about everything, why the ref didn't book any of them for doing it is a mystery, sometimes 3 or 4 of them in his face. :sentoff:

What I found very strange was their manager walking through the quagmire in a pair of ordinary shoes. Never seen that before. Him and Edmo had quite a few conversations along the way!!
I haven't seen Burns that wound up by the opposition before and O'Donnell played the captains part well in going over and calming him down before things got out of hand. Paddy shocked when I told him he had to pay his fine himself although the fans have said they will pay it for him and was warned not to add £100 for himself. It will probably be in the region of £30.
It is getting harder and harder to name an individual MotM as they play so well as a team.
I hope we get enough people to run a coach to Worcester as these players obviously thrive on the support.

The results just get better :D , sounds like they were a bunch of prima donnas and couldn't handle the pressure our guys put them under! How did Danny Hone do noticed he lined up for North Ferriby

Danny who???

They weren't really prima donnas as such Mark, just a pack of whining moaning individuals. The sight of their no.10 having a real hissy fit on the pitch after a decision went the wrong way was one of the funniest things I've seen since an U9's game!! When one of their coaching staff ran and dived into our bucket of spare balls after another wnet into Brady's was comic genuis :-D A thoroughly entertaining day!!

Absolutely Elaine, was just thinking this the other week, how can you pick a MOM the way they are playing. It sounds corny but it really is a team performance.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Cheers Ian, Hone was that memorable was he?? A good lad doesn't become a bad one overnight ask Robbie Williams ;) Looks like we really got into their faces and they couldn't cope with it! :D

North Ferriby official match report can be read here.

Reading their match report, did they seriously create more chances than Barrow? Recall a fair number of long range efforts either straight at McMillan or sliced/hooked horribly wide and out of the ground. Maybe they did but I don't recall McMillan having to make a diving save.

Their match preview is also here.

That report makes them sound as though they were unlucky

Probably not far off with the pen decision being a soft one then after that it all sounds like North Ferriby one way traffic........unless you were there, then you'd know their report is a load of [SwearFilter]!
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

North Ferriby would have learned a lot yesterday during their master class at the FBSS. They seem to be ambitious but came up against a superior club with a rich heritage having already won this league, been in the football league, won cups at Wembley etc. Despite being outclassed in every department they might want to reconsider the tactic of getting in the match official's face at every decision. This cynical tactic backfired spectacularly with the Referee taking revenge by awarding a soft penalty and a soft red card against them; not that it would have affected the result.

The spectacle of that bad tempered bent little elf with the bobble hat still berating the officials long after the final whistle was testimony to the idea that village simpletons should perhaps remain within the confines of their villages at all times.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
