+1 Although credit where its due, I thought Lacey was pretty good this week actually, nowhere near as good as ARH but was both his industrious energetic self but also kept things ticking with some neat and tidy play in the middle and spraying it further to the wings. More of the same please. As for ARH, NEEDS to be starting, everyone can see not only his personal quality but also how much better we look as a team with him playing.
Special credit to Grand & Livesey today, looked unflappable and impenetrable all afternoon.
Can't wait for Wilson to be back.

Daft yellow for Lacey after 10 minutes. Which meant our 'midfield hardman' pussied out of 2 tackles. He's lucky Shez is injured.

Pasted on the Gloucester City website :
"Charlie Griffin comes on 53 minutes in and Barrow fans are booing him. A man who was knocked out cold by a vicious thug in the 2010 FA Trophy final by a Barrow player. No class"
What's the craic on this? I did actually feel quite sorry for Griffin after Robin Hulbert forced him to have a metal plate inserted in his face. Seems a little harsh to boo the guy for being hospitalised. Not forgetting the fact of course that at the time Griffin was stretchered off Stevenage had already played all three of their subs and we went on to win. He's no Bastock.

There wasn't booing, more an buzz of recognition and most folk didn't notice he'd come on, I didn't. And one of their players petulantly smashing the ball into a group of kids and disabled folk was a lot more 'classless'

Hate to have to say this but it was clearly booing as far as I'm concerned and completely out of order. It was indeed classless. I immediately expressed my disgust to my pal next to me.
I expect I'll get stick for this but it doesn't alter the facts.
Griffin was obviously badly hurt back in 2010 and ended up in hospital (unless of course he was taking football cheating and theatrics to a new level by pursuing it all the way to a hospital bed). There was no call whatsoever for the reception he was given yesterday and at that particular moment it felt embarrassing to be a Barrow fan. Let's have some honesty here and, just for once, get rid of the usual football double-speak and hypocrisy. Griffin did nothing wrong and the booing yesterday was an absurdity. Of course it will be explained away as "banter" but it's just not good or witty banter.

Yes most definitely booing and totally out of order

Yes there was booing from the stands at someone who hasn't done anything wrong unless you call getting injured a crime and also one person shouting to Cook to get back to Grimsby---he was told in no uncertain terms!!!! What a way to treat your own players never mind the opposition.

Blimey it sounds worse in the stand than anywhere else in the ground! I thought that was where polite people, folks that wanted a seat and families went.
There wasn't any need to boo Griffin if that's what happened. As for Cooky

that's just idiotic.

Never heard anything on the pop side apart from as Steve say's a bit of chatter when he came on, certainly no booing but it looks like something has happened from certain sections of the ground - no need for it when the bloke has done absolutely nothing wrong.
Why was Cooky getting a bit of abuse? why would any home supporter do that?
That's two incidents yesterday (three if the reported abuse of the first aiders is true) & it makes you wonder what goes through some peoples heads at times!

I think the 'abuse' if anything from the Holker End was a couple of people at a light hearted wind up of one of the Ambrose regulars well know to many who works as a medic on matchdays. Didn't think there was abuse as such, but as I missed the booing etc as I clearly had more pre matchers than I thought!
But football can make rationality go out of the window for sure

I can assure you now that the shout out to Cooky was close to me and no more than a bit of throw away light hearted banter and was not said with any venom behind it all. it was nothing more than that and if anyone thought it was anything else they have took it totally out of context. Surely no one took that seriously?- one person shouted back that he "wasn't shouting that last month" and that was met with a few smiling nods of there you go from his mates- that's you told. It was just terrace banter- nothing malicious at all- C'mon people- lighten up. The few idiotic boos for Charlie griffin aside, it was a good friendly atmosphere on Sat and has been all season.

Well there you go then. The usual excuse of banter!!! Not if you are the recipient of it though. I can just imagine the smirks as they think how clever they are.
Cooky was getting increasingly frustrated as the game went on and those kind of comments aren't going to help. Support is what we are there for, not childish comments.

I am one of the First Aiders and I can assure you that such "abuse" is nothing more than ill informed comment from uneducated football fans (sic)
No matter how much the Sean or the other Barrow physio gestures for a stretcher we cannot act on their request as Law 5 states that the Referee ensures that no unauthorised persons enters the field of play.
The initial on-pitch assessment of Shez meant that he was able to make it to the sideline but it then became apparent that he'd need a stretcher to get him to the treatment room. The game had not re-started, Sean indicated a stretcher was needed but we'd just been stood down only to be resummoned and then awaited the referees signal to enter the field of play and get across to Shez.
Everything was done by the book, we follow prescribed protocols. Nuff said.

I wasn't having a go at you or the other first aiders bud, I was actually making a point of saying the abuse & booing wasn't called for & should not have happened.
