We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: pitch work has now started.
The grass has really come on since last week, bit hard to see just how much by the photo's.
I got the storage container in with the water tank as something to use as a size comparison, it's a fair old lump!

Re: pitch work has now started.
I think they will have to be re-set. When we replaced them to the FA guidelines two years ago (they were previously not meeting FA specifications) that area of the pitch was up to five inches higher than it is now. To re-set them is a bigger job than you could imagine..........best of luck to Gareth & Craig on that one!!barrow-mike wrote:Will the concrete goal post supports have to be replaced now there at surface level or chopped back . grass looking a bit patchy in goal area to !!!
The grass might still be looking patchy but I think the prediction was for it to be ready by the 18th July, so plenty of time yet.
I'll get another picture from the same spot as I've been taking the previous one's from tomorrow, that might give a better indication of how it's coming along week-by-week.

Re: pitch work has now started.
Looking at that bottom pic there must have been 8-10" took away in the centre of the goals. The goal post sockets will most definitely need to be re-set and that's going to be a tough job to break out those concrete blocks.
