Fantastic team performance! Easily the best we have played in a long time. And,even though we were under pressure last 10 mins we never gave up `getting at them!` They were all outstanding at getting back and defending in numbers.A 3/4 winning margin would not have been out of place. If only we could `kill` teams off. Walker was outstanding.Only downside was queuing 20 minutes at one turnstile missing kick off.(very unprofessional imo)Great night though! :skill: (Aldershot and Brodie come Saturday..be gentle with the guy...) :scarf:

Good result ,
played well,
Only one team wanted to try play football the other were an awful excuse of a team.
We controlled most of game and should have got at least 5.
Just Worrying that we can't seem to find that second goal.
Haworth again lazy, so frustrating all the ability with ball at his feet but for such a big lad the way he gives up in the tackle and off the ball is awful.
Williams was good same as he was against forest green before he kicked someone, hope his injury is ok.
The rest of them very good.

Fantastic performance tonight. I will say to all those criticising Edmo for not picking Newby from the start,I think we saw tonight why.

He wasn't lazy but he was absolutely [SwearFilter] awful and clueless tonight (and I LIKE him!).
Dixon, Lacey (can't believe that) and Pilks were awesome all night but most of the players were on great form.
Best I have seen Ashton play so far.

Excellent performance. But for a mostly excellent goalkeeping performance and some good opportunities missed we would have been well out of sight before the nail biting last 10 minutes - even then I felt we restricted Lincoln to half chances at best. Keep up these levels of performance and take more chances and we will do alright this year, it'll certainly give us a good platform to build on for Paul Cassons visions for the club.

The only disappointment for me was the fan outside at the end who threw a cheeseburger at some Lincoln fans (I think it was a cheeseburger anyway, I could see a yellowy kind of texture between the buns but above the burger), according to my source at the game the man supposedly posts on here as Moonwatcher. I'd like you to publicly apologise for that.

I thought Haworth had a solid performance but there was a couple of occasions where his decision making was poor (one where he held onto the ball too long and lost it and another when he had Jase open to his right and he chose to blast it over instead). Other than that though I feel any criticism would be harsh.

Saw it live mate thanks. Of course he misplaced passes like they all do. But why whinge and pick players out from what was a very good TEAM win? baffling...

That was a game of football as it should be played! It was an emphatic a 1-0 as you will see could easily of been three or four with a bit more composure in the final third!

Have to agree with Kieran it was Neil Ashtons best game in a Barrow shirt to date, in fact the whole back four hardly gave an inch, Livesey had Rhead well and truly sussed all night both the Williams twins ;) looked solid as did our midfield of Niall Cowperthwaite and Paddy Lacey, one or two wayward passes under pressure but forgivable.

Jason Walker and Cookie both worked tirelessly and I was beginning to think it was going to be one of those frustrating night for the Cookie monster as he was showing signs of imploding but to his credit he stuck to it and got his reward after combining well with Walker!!

Dan Pilkington and Andy Haworth caused countless problems going forward, but they never quite produced the end product for the most part. It was good to see Andy Haworth back tracking with the man in possession more in the second half as he needs to take on his defensive duties a little more for the team.

That only leaves Joel Dixon who gets better each game he plays! Oh and the subs all played their part in seeing the game out for what was a great win!!! :scarf: :scarf:

Counted 43 Lincoln fans in their enclosure and would say they also had at least couple of handfulls in the stand so they did well for a Tuesday night game.

He misplaced passes they all do, but it's his reaction, he just stands there, no chasing back.
He is a big lad but the challenges he backs out of are wrong. Half heartedly goes in for challenges.
Final ball after good runs, 9 out of 10 terrible or a wild shot
Like I said ball at feet brilliant, but we can't afford to be carrying him.

Great performance today, and it wasn't so much through a lack of finishing but great goalkeeping that it stayed at 1-0.

I'd written off Walker last season, to be honest, but this season he seems rejuvenated. Cook was too much for their awful centre back Bush (he's always been shite, but seems to get signed up because he can throw), and Pilks is what we've been missing.

Always liked Cowps in that role, and Lacey's rocket would've been the highlight (but for great keeping again).

Those questioning Haworth must have missed the amount of times he created an attack out of nothing. For every time he gives the ball away or shoots when a pass is on, he does at least two things that produce something out of nothing. Absolutely invaluable to this team for that reason. He doesn't tackle back, but that's why we're picking two defensive midfielders.

It's always good when you could have picked one from four or five to be man of the match.

The turnstile situation is ridiculous though - get it sorted!

Fair summary that Mark.

Of the 5 sides to come to Holker St so far this season Southport were the worst Lincoln are next. They were poor but then we made 2nd place Eastleigh look very poor for long periods as well.

Pre-match Edmo said he brought in Cowps and S.Williams to deal with Lincoln's aerial threat and their physical presence while adding Pilks to give them something different to think about at the other end. The changes worked pretty well, Rhead (No9) their target man was pretty much snuffed out and with a pretty much one dimensional game plan they looked short of ideas. Launch it to Rhead up front via, set piece, throw-in or open play and repeat.

Despite a chance to score in the first minute of the game Lincoln started the time wasting game early on in the 1st. Mainly to break up the Barrow play as they were getting hammered and they were going to concede if they didn't change something. Cowps cut right through them with a couple of 1-2s and one on one Farman his shot was saved. Howarth ran through their midfield players and set up a few efforts. A Lacey rocket was tipped over and Haworth and Cook both went close when they should really have scored. It looked like a half of one-way traffic with Farman in the Lincoln nets keeping them in it. Dixon tipped over a Lincoln effort. 0-0 HT.

More of the same in the 2nd. Walker put it in the net, he looked on side but the linesman decided it wasn't. Cook on the left curled his low shot round out stretched Farman in the Lincoln net for his 5th league goal of the season. More Farman saves followed, he got a touch on one shot that a covering defender cleared before it could trickle over the line. If Lincoln actually play football they might have got somewhere but long and direct was their only game plan, we had that sussed before the first kick. Having said that Barrow rowed their luck a bit at the end sitting deep and allowing Lincoln on to them, Dixon did enough to mop up anything that got through with the defence heading most of out well clear. Barrow did play at pace and full-time or not they were tiring towards the end which allowed Lincoln into the game in the last minutes. 1-0 FT.

Good performance and and entertaining game, showed more of what we can do tonight against a lack lustre Lincoln.
