One of the best natural ball players we've had. Needs to play in a good team. Will do well for them.

Not looked fit or interested this year might be related
Great for us last year though
Going forward north west possibly midlands based players seems to be the way to go

I think to stay in this league we need a bit more than "stuck in" .we create hardly any chances and even if we get the odd goal our defence isn't that good!
Give over. We're in a scrap at the bottom. The constant refrain on here is that what we want above all is players who are prepared to do exactly that. Get stuck in, make the effort and there's a far better chance the opportunities will come as is obviously what happened against Sutton.
Really !

Not much point having talented players if they won't put the effort in, which probably causes those who are committed to get peed off too. I guess AP thinks that Jordan White and Luke James are more likely to contribute to the team effort than Harrison and Yussuf even if they are less skillful players.

Incidentally, re Harrison, we didn't often (ever?) see him score spectacular goals like Williams and Bennett did on occasions - he was normally just in the right place to tap/sidefoot in. Which is perhaps what AP hopes Luke James can do for us.

Surely Jim the art of any decent goal scorer is being in the right place at the right time. Byron got a lot of critism but he was efficient he made the game look simple at times that is always the sign of a good player to me. He is rightly lauded as being the non league Berbatov. The time is right for Byron to move on, but we have to address the shortfall ASAP.

6K a month. I hope Sutton are paying all of it !!!!
Gone missing this season and his body language is dreadful.
Still, he was the best striker we had and fear for the rest of the season looking at our striking options we have left.
Hope Ady brings one in next week but guess this has been done to cut the budget
I should blooody well hope so anall, Would be crazy to let a player your going to get shot of trigger an contract extension, Good Business.

I wasn't putting Byron down, just saying I assume the plan was to replace one 'right place' goalscorer with another in Luke James, who was described as 'fox in the box' when he signed (though he seemed to have been used in a different role last Tuesday).

If you look at his scoring records over the years then you can see that his best scoring rate has been here at Barrow. The last time he showed anything decent over a prolonged period was more than a decade a go. He had it good here, he 'was' liked here. And yet, the impression he gave and by the accounts of people I know and trust, he didn't like it here. Are we not good enough for him?
I get the feeling that he thought he was due more, that we should be grateful to him but he didn't have to be grateful to us.
Frankly, I would prefer sulky people like that (Cook being another example) to stay well away from us. I'd rather have people who were here for us as well as themselves.

Didn't say you did Jim, I was just saying some players make the game look easy at times, I think Byron comes amongst those players.

Timing of the move is the biggest question mark given our situation and the fact we have lost Yussuf as well.

I hope you are correct. Did he not fit in or was his attitude poor?
seemed to lose interest i guess when we sold our best players end of last season.shame really. class player.
Can you blame him? Especially when we didn't sign any quality to replace those we lost. He needs good service to score - he received very little this season.

Thanks for the memories, Byron (especially the two goals at Bristol Rovers) and good luck!

Amber SUFC - with Byron in your side you may achieve promotion to the FL. You'll be there before we are, anyway!
We've no money (so I've heard) and are/have been relying on loanees this campaign.
We're what you would call a sinking ship...or submarine :D
We were talking about promotion last season. This season? We'll be lucky to stay up!

According to an article in today's Times, if Sutton go up they will be required to replace their pitch with a grass one, cost about half million, and if they refuse they will be relegated 2 divisions. When I read it, I had to check the date as I thought it must be April 1st, but that seems to be the case.
