How Brutal a cull does it need to be???

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

You have to remember that he was only playing against us.

He did manage to keep the "best player in training" Harry P quiet when he came on though.

I would hope that recruitment criteria include a bit more than "happened to have a good game against us".

Haha, quite correct.

Joking aside, and seeing as most of the time in this league, supporters can only go on what they see at home (and possibly away) for a couple of seasons he seems as though he would be a decent start to the summer recruitment.

I’m sure AP would have a more rigorous selection procedure that that though 😁
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Let's have our cull first before we start to to repopulate. I Like a good old fashioned cull now and again it brings a fresh air of optimism before realism descends and generally takes hold about two weeks after the season kicks off, if not before!!

priority has got to be a strong midfielder and centre half who can boss the game on the field

I can't believe we're getting excited about the signing of a CH of a side that finished bottom.. fair enough he had a half decent game Saturday.. but he wasn't exactly stretched!
I guess he will have been watched frequently if he's on our radar...

Don’t forget the two quick wingers and the two 20 goal a season strikers

Astles was part of the same succesful Northwich Vics side as Williams and Bennet. At the time I understand we approached him but he chose Chester as their training regime at the time, somewhere between part and full time (think Bignot changed it) ,fitted his circumstances.I believe he has been one of their stand out performers this season. The lad Crawford who scored their second goal is a raw talent only recently emerged from their Academy under the interim manager who is also Head of said Academy.
