Ebbsfleet v Bluebirds
Re: Ebbsfleet v Bluebirds
I have to say...and this may prove to be an unpopular opinion but we can’t continue to play with both Rooney & Taylor in the side.
For me, we need to have a sitting midfielder (Taylor) and then two who can be more creative and look to move the ball forward and be positive. Those two need to be Kay and Burgess. Again, just my opinion but Rooney just doesn’t do enough. I get he’s picking up a goal here and there (to be fair he takes the corners, pens and free kicks and also shoots from 40 yards - just for the sake of it seems) but so would others if they were playing in his role. He moves it so slowly...crab like (side to side) and is near enough non existent when it comes to defensive work and actually putting a foot it. He’s cost us a fair few goals over the past weeks with his failure to track back and or losing the ball in midfield. It’s like his surname on the sheet means more than his actual ability. He’s somehow played literally every minute of each game (only come off once IIRC) and keeps being extremely average Joe.
Everything goes through him but I actually think it’s detrimental to our philosophy of getting it forward quickly (on the floor) and getting opposition on their back feet as opposed to them just allowing us to play it side to side.
Just me thinking this?
Thoughts?

I agree 1 million%. Rooney flatters to deceive week in week out and I'm not actually sure what he offersjanwilder wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 6:49 pm I have to say...and this may prove to be an unpopular opinion but we can’t continue to play with both Rooney & Taylor in the side.

Summed up when Paul Hornby was asked if we might share with the rugby and he said Rooney would do ok with his kicks over the sticks.
I think we are where we are and I think no money is available but I would be looking at a lower league club with a decent couple of half backs Cheap to get in ,is Paul Ogden still with us?

There you go again having to get your little dig in.We are all aware where he care from and I don’t recall many complaints from people when we signed him (although I did say in response to the news I didn’t rate him ).He did well in earlier games and no one complaining then.Cheap players from lower league are hardly likely to be better if they were we would have seen them in our division .already I feel.Ian Evatt has the contacts as well as Paul Ogden .Maybe if some of our injured players recover soon and team plays with the commitment they seemed to show today by the sound of the radio we can stop the rot before we reach the bottom four.

Worse record than edmo now at the same point when he was put on notice about results.

Re: Ebbsfleet v Bluebirds
To be fair I really liked edmo as he had passion all be it a Mrs who wasn't happy him doing what he was doing, but he was one of us and locaish 'coniston' and our owners expected more at that time, then a cock turned up sorry a Cox Paul, and shafted to the hult to be fair the fat c..t I believe that was our biggest mistake, I would of stuck it out with edmo and seen where we went but I'm just a fan and know shit,PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 9:03 pm Worse record than edmo now at the same point when he was put on notice about results.

Ian Evatt contacts will be in the league and would cost money
Read any of my comments about Rooney never rated him

Re: Ebbsfleet v Bluebirds
Any team playing us in this League at the moment is probably issued with a sheet containing the relevant facts about us. I would guess it reads as follows:
(1) BAFC are a small team who have no real height up front. Action: None required - Back four will not be faced with the problem of balls being pumped into the box
(2) As per point (1), corners and set pieces will almost exclusively be played short. Action: Players may be released from redundant penalty box duty to cover off short corners. Play will then generally be forced backwards.
(3) BAFC prefer to play the ball on the ground at which they are both adept and pleasant to watch. Action: Dont panic. They generally try to attack with precision rather than pace. You will have time to re-group defensively
(4) Because of point (3) BAFC will when attacking tend to play the ball into the channels sometimes pretty effectively. Action: This is predictable. Doubling up on cover wide is highly recommended and generally pays results
(5) If the action in point (4) is not successful, BAFC will generally then try to play the ball back inside when attacking the penalty area. Action : Dont panic. Remember points (1/2) apply. See also point (6) below
(6) BAFC have been rigorously schooled in retaining the ball and will always try to play a passing game even when attacking. Intricate triangles and patterns will often be created involving multiple passes. Action: Hold your shape and dont panic. They will give the ball back to you at some point and usually by the fourth pass
If you follow these 5 points then you can usually keep BAFC at bay even with a rudimentary back four. This will enable you to utilise the advice in point (7) below.
(7) Whilst the BAFC defence may appear robust for long periods during a game, you must apply constant pressure and stay alert as they will present you with at least one gift wrapped chance. Statistical records show this to be a fact, though its cause defies explanation.
There was absolutely no reason that we should have lost that game today. With due respect to Ebbsfleet they are no Salford. We lost a game that we dominated - for virtually all the second half - without ever looking like we'd score without them actually putting the ball in the net for us. They weren't a particularly big team, they weren't a very good team and we lost to a goal scored by a middle aged, overweight, miles past his best goal poacher who is not quick enough to do much else than lay decent balls off for others to run onto and - oh yes - put the ball away in the 6 yard area when your centre back completely misjudges the flight of a ball into the box and gets the wrong side of the fat b***tard. Sorry Danny Kedwell that's probably a bit harsh since you at least, seem to know where the goal is.
Left this game last season feeling depressed having watched a Mickey Moore managed BAFC play completely tactical tripe in a 3-2 defeat where we were outplayed and never looked like winning. I left this afternoon feeling both depressed and angry having watched an Ian Evatt managed side dominate a game for long periods from box to box without ever looking like winning. I'm not sure which felt worse. There does come a point where you cannot keep extolling the virtues of the play when it repeatedly fails to generate any results. I'm really not trying to get on the managers back but we are now only a couple of games away from being the best footballing side in the bottom four.

Edmo. Who I liked as a bloke but had double the money Evatt has but spent a lot of time distracted. Let's be kind and say he took the [SwearFilter]. Before anything, we need a centre half

Re: Ebbsfleet v Bluebirds
He won't have the money to. We already have a reasonably large squad, we just have a huge injury list.
This seasons budget has a 30k hole in it due to us not reaching FAC 1R, won't get anyone new in until we offload probably loanees.
