Re: Today’s Game
Am sick to the core about this, after all the effort and investment put into the fixture by so many. To be fair, Dover did not plan for this to happen and football club economics often drive decisions such as travelling such distances on the day. That said, very poor planning by Dover and any potential action as a result will probably not help Barrow AFC. However, on the face of it, our beloved club will pay the heaviest price and by some distance. A real kick in the groin and we feel the agony.

Re: Today’s Game
Obviously very sad what happened to cause this but terrible from Dover, if they cant afford to travel overnight at least get a bus or earlier train to give yourself leeway if issues like this occur, feel so sorry for the board, with all the lost income from today,

Re: Today’s Game
The obvious thing is to travel the day before, but if clubs are trying to save money they travel on the day. I don't blame Dover, it's one of those things. Don't forget there are other games called off because of the disruption, but for it to happen today is unbelievable.

Re: Today’s Game
Couldn't agree more with this. It's an absolute disgrace if we are not awarded 3 points over this shambles which was easily avoidable by Dover. It's beyond senseless for Dover to travel across the length of the country on the day of the game to begin with but the 07.30 from Euston would have ensured arrival for the scheduled KO time.Mr Zebedee wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 1:59 pm Looking at the Realtime Trains website, the only train due to call at Lancaster which was adversely affected by the incident at Bletchley was the 09:30 departure from London Euston.
If that was the train they were traveling on, they were cutting it close, even if the train had been on time
There were trains out of London at 07:30 and 08:30 which they could have travelled on, so I have no sympathy with Dover if they face points deductions or sanctions from the NL or F.A. over this

Re: Today’s Game
To travel on the day to arguably their longest trip? You are having a laugh.
Re: Today’s Game
This for me. Of all the days.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Re: Today’s Game
Fuming.
Absolute shambles....longest trip of the season on a f****** train the same day.....REALLY !!!!
Might be part time/work fridays etc.....but now you are all having to take the day off to make the journey AGAIN on a Tuesday night...
Doesn't look like the timings would of worked anyway...
Really tinpot and Sunday league planning....
This has cost us thousands today.....
Cant write anymore or I would wear out the swear filter...
Shocking

Re: Today’s Game
This will hurt us, we have lost a lot of revenue and also 'fans' who would have turned up and been impressed by the way we play might have considered returning next week for the cup match. The new shop is opened and that will have been hit along with the sale of beer and food, if the club have food left over try and find a charity to give it to instead of wasting it. The pressure is on to win next week and hopefully advance in the cup and it is our job to get the fickle people of Barrow to attend.
Re: Today’s Game
Unbelievable that they would take the last train to get them here on time and then turn back at Crewe and get the train home because they would not be able to get home tonight after playing a delayed kick off. Pathetic deduct points for failing to complete the fixture
Just say no to VAR

Re: Today’s Game
Said on RC some players decided to leave the train and- and set off back apparently. Dover supporters winkle- faced in the Cross Bar enjoying the hospitality said a spokesman for the club.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
