Call me cynical but Matt Platt is given a contract then sold to us and White goes to Bolton on loan
Good acquisition but I wonder if I.E had told Mowbray to give MP a contract knowing we would sign him for a fee and hence White goes to Bolton as a thank you.

Blackburn didn’t give him a new contract
They had an option on the contract he signed last year to retain him for another year
It’s something a lot of clubs use when they have a young player who has been courting interest - instead of letting him go for nothing or for a tribunal fee they retain his contract and can then dictate the fee he goes for
