it's a separate topic, but not exactly news or newsworthy - it's what the club does every year;- whatever the shareholders put in is converted to the equivalent amount of shares. It's not rocket science or controversial.

Are you sure because if he was that job cannot be replaced, that would mean no Media person , and if they did he could take the club to an industrial tribunal!CCM wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 6:55 amMade redundant apparentlyHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 6:18 am Sounds like he’s been sacked; and everyone in the replies disagrees with the decision![]()

They can create a similar position with slightly different duties and a new job title.

Not really - they might want a press officer instead, or split the role into two media officer roles.blue nige wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:23 amYeah but it's dangerous groundbluessupporter wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:21 am

Unless it's making someone already employed in a dual role...cant be many remaining?

Re: Media Manager appointed
Question about simmo was asked last nigth.
We got rid as was difficult to get him to training for interviews etc, we want better and more website content
3 hrs since friendly finished and we have nothing .
Didn't like him at first but win me over, he'd have had plenty on by now.
He interviewed wild and waters I think when they joined. Had nowt since.

One person (Matt Dodd presumably) doing additional duties as well as what he has always done. The lack of info on Luke James departure on club website was poor. Matt can’t be expected to continue the high standard set by Simmo without some additional paid help IMOHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 6:56 amVideo of the Q+A night must be taking some uploadingboyliegladbach wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 6:02 pm He interviewed wild and waters I think when they joined. Re: Media Manager appointed
Serious question in the last twelve months how many back room staff have the club lost ? I make it Anya in the ticket office - the Bar Manager who was from Blackpool - the Commercial Bloke who we got from Oldham and - Simmo the Media Manager - that’s quite a turn over considering we have such a small staff.
Just remembered also Levi our former Chief Executive

Re: Media Manager appointed
Two Anya and the commercial bloke left for other jobs. Hospitality and Bar manager and Levi were sadly not up to the job. The Simmo one and reasons given are puzzling IMO. Smacks of cost cutting to me and looking at a cheaper option IE Matty Dodd. His Dad Russ (club secretary) did video interviews in the past maybe they are going back to that ?FanzoneFan wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 10:52 am Serious question in the last twelve months how many back room staff have the club lost ? Re: Media Manager appointed
Barrow AFC is not a rich club and has to concentrate on the playing staff and the ground improvements.People keep asking for improved results on the pitch so by not having so many backroom staff it frees up money to hopefully bring in a player who can make a difference. We are not a multi million pound club who can afford to waste money. When we start to climb the table under Pete Wild, who seems to have a definite plan,I think you will see some of these positions coming back as the income stream improves and we start to get larger attendances at every match.Stability brings success and in the previous two seasons it was sadly lacking.I am hoping now that with the wholesale changes the club has made roots are now being put down for a great future going forward for Barrow AFC.
